Lesson Learned

I had a craving for a Salami sandwich for quite awhile. So yesterday I decided to have one. I figured I could account for the calories in my "budget" and I would still have a decent deficit. Well needless to say I was wrong! There are 1080 calories in the sandwich!!! Plus, there is 58 grams of fat!!! It will be at least a year before I have another one. May goal update: I went to the gym last week, I am still struggling with water and did 6,000 steps most days. Why is it so hard to drink water??? Until next time...

  1. I hate when things I love turn out to be so dang high in calories! Salami is just dang yummy too!!! Look on the bright side though. At least you still had a deficit! :-)

  2. Wow, I had no idea salami is so full of fat and calories.

It's so hard to drink water because to get it all in, you have to constantly drink it. I aim for 32 ounces a day, which I ususally get during and right after my workout. Then I don't stress, but continue to drink. I don't measure the rest of the day, but I get quite a bit. Probably not 64 ounces, definitely not half my weight in water, but more than I used to.

  3. I admire how you are straight up about the calories! Sometimes I look at what people say they ate and the calorie count seems way too low.

Somedays I can nail it with the water, and other days is tough. Is it hard because you think of it and just don't want to or you want to but just don't think of it?

  4. I think it is that I want to but don't think about it. What is sad is that I have little reminders set up on the bodybugg that are supposed to remind me to DRINK WATER and now I just say to myself "Oh it is 10:00 or 1:00" when it goes off. I WILL get better with water... I WILL get better with water.

  5. Wow, a 1000 calories, that is CRAZY!!! Hey listen - you ate, you enjoyed, and you moved on - good job!
I'm with you with the water - I struggle with it as well.

  6. Yeah, I am the same way with the water. The one thing that has helped (still not where I need to be everyday) is to fill up a pitcher and sit it and a glass right in the middle of the table or counter, where I have to see it. And I am trying to get in the habit of if I see it, I have to drink at least 1/2 a glass full.

Good job with the self-hypnosis!! :-)

  7. Next time try turkey pepperoni . It is really good and only 70 calories for 17 pieces ! I eat it when I am craving salami and it does the trick for me !
