And the countdown begins...

I ate well during the day yesterday but went a little overboard in the evening but still managed to do okay. Should have been packing but just needed to rest and gear up for today.

My plan for today is to get started on the closet. Dave will be able to help me this afternoon and we have also scheduled a walk and a good dinner so it is going to be a good day but I can't help but be stressed about it. I have to remind myself that in one more week I will be in a new place with lots more room, cheaper rent, next to one of my best friends and by the park. Focus on the prize Katie... Focus on the prize.

My brother emailed us and he is coming for Thanksgiving. He has a friend that is getting married that weekend so he is flying in Wednesday. We will go to a restaurant T.B.D. Bob has found out through allergy testing that he is allergic to turkey, peanuts and a myriad of other items. I don't like turkey so mom and I have chosen restaurants that have other items available on their menus. Two years in a row I had Salmon with a raspberry glaze with asparagus and mashed potatoes. We shall see what we come up with this year. My mom will be glad to have her baby boy here (He's 48!)

Hope you are having a good weekend! Until next time...

P.S. Holy Cow I have 162 followers! That blows my mind people! I have as many followers as pounds I need to lose ;-)

  1. LOL that is funny.

Sounds like a good Thanksgiving dinner. Glad your brother can join you.

Packing and moving is such a chore. It certainly is stressful.

  2. I cannot put into words how much I hate to pack but I do love unpacking in a new, bigger place and its a great way to get rid of stuff.

  4. Good thing you mentioned that food allergy thing. Now that I think of it I may be allergic to chinese food- I'll need to get back to the buffet to do some testing.

Gee it would be pretty cool to have a new place to live thats bigger and cheaper and in a good location to boot! I've always hated the act of moving though. Good luck with the "stuff" and making the new place into a *home*.

When I move out of this place I'm sure to find a good two dozen odd cat toys... I get her one and it disapears in a couple of weeks and she gets a new one. The only one she doesn't hide is her string. She always leaves it on my bed so when I get home it's a reminder to play!

  7. So you bought butternut...yummy.
I either grill it in the oven with skin ( and eat skin if done in oven) for about 45 mins or so after covering with a little olive oil and butting Italian spices on it.
Or boil it after peeling the skin off, till soft, mashing it up, putting in some spices and even a little chilly spice...
Sometimes I do in microwave and put with chicken and pasta...of there are some lovely ways to cook it. Another way

  8. Hi Katie,

I have only one piece of advice for you on moving. If you come across something while you are packing and you say to yourself, "I forgot about this", then throw it out. You don't need it.

OK, off my soapbox. Congrats on all your success. I too am thinking about Thanksgiving because that is when I can start to eat non-blended or soft foods again. I had my Lapband surgery on October 21st, so only a couple of weeks to go before real food again. Man I miss using my teeth to eat.

Anyway, good luck with your move. I wont wish you luck with your weight loss since I see determination and motivation in your posts. It is just a matter of time baby! Keep on keeping on and the weight will come off. Thanks for folliwnign my blog too. I appreciate your insights and support.
