Serenity & Sunday

I had mentioned in a previous post that I was going to feature some of the exercises that I went through for the family class at Dave's program. This is a list of tasks to help you on your spiritual journey whatever your belief system may be.
  • Music/Singing
  • Quiet, solitude
  • Appreciating nature
  • Loving others unselfishly
  • Listening to others
  • Sharing your feelings
  • Remembering, reflecting
  • Keep a journal
  • Forgiving others
  • Attending a church
  • Praising others
  • Walking, exercising
  • Smiling, laughing
  • Reading, learning
  • Helping others
  • Working
  • Sharing experiences
  • Asking for forgiveness
  • Embracing loved ones
  • Mediatating

I have been able to incorporate most of the tasks into my life but I am working on forgiving others and forgiving myself. I am also finding meditation and quiet solitude really help my stress level.

Slept in yesterday and went to a baby shower in the afternoon. Did well on food but did have a piece of cake. Scraped the frosting off though. Didn't get any packing done but I will be hammering it out during the week and Dave will be able to help me. I am hoping to purge more stuff while I am in the process. Deb and I decided it would be too much to do a Garage sale this month but I will have everything put aside and ready to go when we decide to do it. Thankfully there is lots of storage in the new apt. Until next time...

  1. What a great list. There's so much that can come from small, meaningful things.

It's so nice to hear that the things on the list have already helped your stress level. Keep at it, and I hope you find your peace.

  2. I love that photo!
It's a fantastic list ... but I'm stubborn on some of them still.
Good Luck with all the stuff you have to do this week. It's nice that Dave will be helping.

  3. Hi Katie!
It's been a while since I've been visiting the blogs and sites I enjoy, but I am doing so right now!
I like the tasks list above...Some are not so taxing but others are. I love mediation too but find I am impatient with it. Which means I need to do it more. Especially when feeling the stressors building on top of each other like Legos.
I will read the poem and your other posts now...
    :)

  4. Great list. I find my peace through my faith, but within that there are a lot on your list that I strive to complete as well.

    Hope the packing/unpacking goes well!
