You Play - You Pay

Survived the big storm but my mom still does not have power. Hopefully they will be able to get it back on soon.

Got on the scale this morning and I am up 7 lbs!!! Between the beerfest and lack of exercise this week it is no wonder but sheesh. The one thing I have learned from this journey though is to roll with the punches. I am not going to let it ruin my day or upset me too much. I know exactly why it happened and I have no one to blame but me. Today is a new day and a clean slate!

Going to Fish Market with mom tonight and planning on going to bed early because I am taking Debby and Larry to the Airport at 6:45 a.m. Thank goodness it is only 10 miles away from where we live.

Lovely Hadley at Halving Hadley bestowed me with a Gorgeous Blogger Award. Thank you Miss Hadley! I will ponder and post my list soon.

Side note: I have almost as many followers as pounds I need to lose!

  1. Awww, I'm sorry to hear about the bad scale number.

Katie, you'd been doing so amazing well, but it seems like you've stalled around some sort of plateau, just losing and regaining a few pounds of late. While I don't want you to beat yourself up over it, I *do* think you should maybe spend some time thinking about what's going on. Have you lost your drive? Have you been subordinating your weight loss goals to other things in your life? Why have you been having so much trouble since you hit the initial 50 pound mark?

Katie, I believe in you. I know you can lose the rest of the weight. Figure out what's been going on, fix it, and start getting that scale moving back in the right direction.

  2. I'm sorry about the gain Katie. You're right though, you shouldn't let it get you down at all. You seem to have pinpointed where you went wrong this week so I'm sure that next week you will be pleased with your number.

    Congratulations on the award!

  13. Quick on, quick off is my motto for the times I've gained weight after a break from my diet! Like you, I'm on a journey to lose over 100lbs (already lost more than 40 with 104 to go!) and I had a week away recently, gaining some weight back, which I lost along with another pound a few days later. I'm probably talking rubbish, but I feel a lot of that gain was 'bloat' from eating badly, and as soon as I started straight back on my diet (a first for me as a break normally continues for several months!) it was gone in a couple (literally!) of days. :o)

    All the best.

    Patsy :o)
