Winsome Wednesday

My bugg ran out of batteries so that is why there is not activity after 6:00 p.m. Calories were up a little as I had a corn dog as a snack.

Had another NSV which was way cool. I have a black blazer that I have hung onto for the last 10+ years but have never worn it. It is one of those timeless items and I just could not bear to part with it. Well I am glad I kept it because now it fits and it looks good! (IMHO) I did take out the big ol' shoulder pads though.

Totally unrelated topic but I have some pretty nice neighbors. There are only 8 units in the building and I have met everyone already. They are all friendly and one has been especially sweet. Her name is Angela and she is 81 years old. She brought over a grocery sack of food and has also given me some persimmons and lemons. She speaks Spanish and I have been wanting to learn so she has been expanding my vocabulary and I have helped her with her English. Win-Win. The only bummer is the guy upstairs. His name is Big Dave and he is the manager. He is a nice guy but he and his friends make a whole bunch of racket and apparently have no regard for anyone around them. I did know this moving in but it has been pretty smooth up until last night. I will learn to deal with it by either wearing earplugs or putting on soft music. Oh well... Until next time...

  1. Hey Katie, congrats on the new apartmant. Having great neighbors is a big plus. From my experience being in a down stairs apartment you get to hear all the noise from above, maybe where a headset with some peaceful music (=

Well, I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you that when I first happened upon your blog it was a huge inspiration for me. I love how you post your "bugg" info up everyday.(I may steal that idea) It was funny because someone had given me the bugg and I had no clue what it was but when I got it all set-up I reconized the screen from your page (=

  3. Terrific NSV! Fitting into old clothes is fun - a new wardrobe addition (& obviously something you already liked!) for free. :)

Learning Spanish from the neighbor sounds cool! Have fun with that.

Bummer 'bout the noisy neighbor...and you can't even complain much since he is the manager. :P
Hopefully the music/ear plugs will work for you.

    Have a great week!

  4. Rude neighbors- so annoying. But you have a kind heart and are nice about it. I would probably be banging on the walls and ceilings with broomsticks to get them to shut up!

  5. What nice neighbors. Especially Angela for bringing over the food and lemons & persimmons. Never ate a persimmon before but I hear people bake with them. Urgh...sorry I brought up baking.

My daughter just got a bugg and she loves it. Its a little too expensive for me and I will totally obsess over it but maybe later.

Glad to hear you are enjoying your new digs.

  6. What a great NSV!

Glad that you have such nice neighbors - Angela sounds like a real sweetie. Persimmons - I haven't thought about those since I was a kid, but they must have grown all over Santa Clara because they were a big deal (along with apricots and almonds). Hmmm...thanks for the memories tonight!

  7. Congrats on the blazer! Woo-hoo!

I'm glad you have nice neighbors. (I'm green with envy about that!) Hopefully Big Dave can be tamed a bit. That's frustrating.

Our last apt we lived in, the upstairs nieghbors had a loud child and a piano. We called them the elephant family. lol (they bounced around a lot)

  8. That's great that you can wear those clothes again. It's a reward you worked for.
