Coordinating Chaos

Did fine with food yesterday. Dave said he could not find a recipe that appealed to him in the magazine. Really? Out of 120 recipes? So he ended up getting a frozen lasagna which was 350 cals per serving and we had a salad and garlic bread. Yogurt for desert. I thought the magazine would be full of yummy healthy recipes and even subscribed to it for a year... Oh well... It was $15 for 10 issues. Not the worst thing I have spent money on.

Last night I was once again motivated to work on my closets/cabinets. So while I am working on my project I needed to pee. So I use the bathroom, flush the toilet and get back to task. Dave came out to check on me about 10 minutes later and he discovered there was 2" of water on the bathroom floor! Glad I just put down those two new rugs and new wood wastebasket. Grrrr! So 15 cazillion towels later we get it cleaned up and he washed all the towels.

All sorts of things are happening at Camp Katie's today. I am getting a new refrigerator because the one I have is leaking badly. I have 3 windows that need new screens. There is a window crank that needs replacing and the guts of the toilet will be replaced. These are all things that should have been taken care of when I moved in - except for the fridge because I didn't know it was a problem back then. Also, my DSL should be working as of this evening. Yay!

I will most likely meet up with my mom tonight for dinner. We have not been to Fish Market in months! I was actually getting bored with it so it before so it will be nice to go back. It will just be for a couple hours so I can handle it. She has mail for me including my W-2 so I can start gathering stuff for taxes. Yippee! Until next time...

  1. Maybe the subscription won't be a waste - I'm sure YOU can find something good to cook from it!

Frustrating about your bathroom mini-flood...why do thing like that happen after you get new rugs?!?

Hope your new place is all ship-shape by the time you get home from work today. Enjoy your dinner with your mom, even if it IS at the Fish Market (can you tell I don't like seafood lol?).

  2. Which magazine is it Katie? I probably have it, I subscribe to 15+ but they are all free through my husband's priority points, so its guilt free pleasure!

Sorry about the toilet - not the best way to end the day.

    Have fun with your Momma!

  3. Hmmmm sounds like maybe Dave thought it would be easier to heat up frozen lasagne than cook - lol! I'd bet you're going to enjoy that magazine. Should be easy for you to find something reasonable to eat at Fish Market. I hope the time with your Mom is fun and not stressful.

  4. My DH is a very picky eater. When it comes to choosing the menu for eat-in nights I'll spend quite some time finding recipes that will suit both of us. Usually, I wind up making two dishes that are similar. Although frozen lasagna would likely suit him just fine.

Sorry about the bathroom flood, and enjoy the Fish Market. It's actually one of my favorite places.

  6. You should check the brand of your windows because you may very well have a warranty! :) I work for a window company, lol.

  7. So sorry! We had a nightmare year in our first house. Remind me to never tell you about it.

  8. Wow you sound busy. Sorry about all your new pretties getting ruined.

There has to be at least one recipe among the 120 ... you'd think.

  9. Hi Katie. Dave getting frozen lasagne? Sounds like he really didn't want to try something new. I'm sure you'll manage to pick out something to tempt him!

So sorry about the toilet. Awful!

Hope you have a good time with your mum.

  10. Sorry to hear about your toilet troubles!

I kind of agree with Helen. Maybe Dave wasn't really in the mood for cooking. :-) Heating things up is what my hubby does best!

I hope you have a great time with your mom!

  11. I am like Dave in the fact that I can look through a book of recipes and not find a single one that fancies me. Sometimes we are just like that.

  13. Bummer about the water in the bathroom. Good thing Dave noticed it or I bet it would have been worse. I really like the fish market, I had an asian salmon dish last time I was there and the roasted veggies with it were yummy. Congratulations on all of your organizing - it is inspiring to me.

  15. The trouble with men is, you give them more than two choices and they can't handle it! If you said "We can have **** or *****" he would have been happier making a decision! (That's if he's a typical bloke!) It's even worse if you're at the supermarket and there are more than two parking spaces available... It takes them FOREVER to decide where they want to park... ;o)
