S.H.I.T. and Stuff

Good morning y'all! How are you doing this morning? I am doing pretty darn good. THANK YOU SO MUCH for the feedback yesterday. Some of your comments brought me to tears! Big surprise!!! As a result of that post, I also shared my blog address with two of my childhood friends that were also adopted. They were both helpful and encouraged me with my search and discoveries. Hi Kristina and Christy!

Sure Happy It's Thursday, aren't you? Dave and I had a great dinner last night. He brought home some sirloin steak, which I am not a big fan of but it had a recipe on the package and it appealed to me so I went ahead and tried it. I modified it but basically I made a rub with honey mustard (they suggested Dijon) pepper, garlic, thyme, parsley and oregano. I put it in the toaster oven on Broil for about 20 mins and it came delish! We had it with corn and a green salad. Yummy! I don't have a screen shot for today. The bodybugg software needs updating and I need someone in MIS to do it so I will start posting from my netbook.

I have had some cool NSVs lately that I wanted to share. NSVs are Non Scale Victories. Back in August of 2009 I bought this blouse (1st pic) as an incentive to get into it. I put it in the back of my closet in hopes of getting into it soon. Well, I put it on today and wore it to work!  Pardon the lumpy belly. Luckily the blazer is covering it. I did ditch those jeans on the left. A little too "dated" looking. I have a pair of Seven jeans that I am hoping to fit into someday. I got a really good deal on them. I think I paid $20 when they are regularly $80-$100.

Some other NSVs that have happened. Getting into my car and having to scoot up the seat position because my belly isn't sticking out and hitting it. I have to wear knee-highs/hose for work and the indentation on my legs are a whole lot smaller from having them on all day.  Yesterday, I went to the store to look for some brown pumps and I found and BOUGHT a necklace and earring set OFF the rack! OMG, I think this is one of the 1st times in as long as I can remember that I have been able to do that! I will show you when I wear it, mmmkkkay? Until next time...

P.S. You still have time to enter the Giveaway!

  5. You're just bubbling with excitement today - as well you should be.

Oh, and the dents in your legs from knee highs? I don't think they ever completely go away, even once you get to goal lol!

  6. excellent work re: NSVs!

On being an adoptee -- It can be really crazy. I met my birth mom just over 20 yrs ago and I still have a relationship with her and my half-sister.

Not at all the case with my birth dad and my half-brothers.

It can really make you feel adrift or separate - like you don't really fit in anywhere and that you are being pulled in many directions.

I maintain that of my adopted friends that those of us who searched for answers and found them (and relatives) are happier than the one who refuses to look.

  12. One of the fist things I liked so much after losing some of my weight was being able to move after I buckled my seatbelt!

    You're doing great!

  13. NSV's are the best because the thrill you get from them can last a lot longer than the scale weigh-in. All day long I get a NSV walking around with my looser clothes on. Woot!
