Giveaway and Birthdays

Had a good day yesterday! I stayed within my allotted calories AND did some Wii Dance Party and ab work. I did 50 crunches and 50 leg lifts.  Dinner was a Lean Cuisine pizza since I was by myself and didn't want to prepare anything.

Today is my mom's 78th birthday. It was also my dad's birthday but he was 3 years older then mom.  So, it is rather bittersweet for her. We will go to the cemetery first and then we will be going to the Outback for dinner, just her and I. I will be ordering Ahi Tuna which is an appetizer but I will make it my entree plus a salad and their yummy bread. To celebrate her birthday, we will be going to see Larry Crowne on Saturday. We fell in love with it when we saw the previews prior to Water for Elephants.

I was contacted by Reilly at Everyday Health recently and he told me about their website and the online tools they have available. They also have Apps for your Smartphone.  It looks like a great resource so I thought I would share. Not only do they have a calorie counter but they have other resources for managing your health like Fitness, Diet and Nutrition and Healthy recipes. Using their site is entirely free.

Everyday Health is giving me the opportunity to giveaway 4 copies of their Calorie Counter book which is a great little book! It has your basics PLUS a lot of restaurants so it would help you plan better for eating out.

All you have to do to enter is tell me in the comments is if you count calories or not. Pretty simple right? For additional entries you can post about the giveaway on Facebook or Twitter and just post the link in the comment section. I will announce a winner on Tuesday, July 5th. Until next time...

P.S. Check out Debbie's updated pictures! Way to go Debbie!!!

  2. I count calories every single day, it helps keep me accountable with my journey, if I don't count I feel like I am losing control of it.

  4. When I am not trying, I say "fooey" on counting calories. But when I am on a roll (as I am now) I count every single bite.

  5. I've been using livestrong.com but I'm going to check out their site--- livestrong doesn't seem as user friendly as it was the first time I used it a couple of years ago. Thanks for the link!

  6. I count calories sometimes when I'm not being lazy about it. I know that it will really help me see how much i'm eating.

  11. Happy birthday to your Mom and Dad. I hope you have fun at the Outback.

I have never been able to count calories or points, it just makes me crazy and obsessive about food. I keep trying to do it but it never really sticks.

  12. Even though I count points, I still do keep a mental note of the calories.

Don't enter me in your giveaway since I won your last one - I think I am going to order a yoga mat with the Amazon.com card :D
