New "Normal"

The fact is, that to do anything in the world worth doing, we must not stand back shivering and thinking of the cold and danger, but jump in and scramble through as well as we can.
Robert Cushing

It seems like forever since I have written a proper blog post. I have really missed blogging! I feel so out of touch with everyone. I am trying to create my new "normal." Life turned upside down for me in the last two months and I am looking forward to things settling down a bit. I know they won't ever be the same but I have to forge ahead...

Today is the first day back to work since October 3rd. I have to wear my wrist cast until November 17 but I am able to perform all my work duties according to the release. I was trying not to stress about coming back and being inundated with tasks but it looks like they actually did my duties while I was out. This is the first time they have done that since I started here in ’04.

I have gained 6 pounds since being out of commission with my ankle, shoulder and wrist. I am not surprised given my binging episodes and lack of activity. It could have been SO much worse so I am actually grateful that it wasn’t more. Today I have my Fitbit on, my lunch packed and trying to have a good attitude so I can carry out the day.

Speaking of attitudes, I recently went to the doctor and I expressed that I was having a lot of anxiety as I have mentioned here and she prescribed anti-anxiety med to help me with that. It is non-addictive and seems to take the edge off enough so I can function better. It does not seem to have any side affects so far which is good. My other doctor actually commented that I seemed more upbeat which is a good sign. I had been pretty grumpy the last few appointments.

I pre-ordered Just Dance 3 which was released October 7th. It was shipped to our old address so I am going to pick it up at lunch time from UPS. So far the reviews seem pretty favorable so I am excited to get it. I will give you my opinion once I try it.

Well I am off to try to catch up with you guys... Hope you all have been behaving! Until next time…
