Lost and List

First things first, I lost 2 lbs. this week. I am at 253. I did see the scale go lower then that during the week but that is fine with me. I am feeling good albeit a little sore but I am encouraged again to see the scale moving. I've been hovering here for far too long! The lowest I have been on this journey is 248.

One of the original blogs I started reading was Cranky Fitness written by Crabby McSlacker. She is a Life Coach and has a wicked sense of humor. She put together a list of 2012 Top Weight Loss Blogs and I am humbled that someone even nominated me. There are some familiar names on the list and a whole bunch of new ones I have not seen before. I am always looking to add new blogs to read to my list. Go check it out when you have a chance.

I have a random fashion question. If you are wearing navy blue dress pants and you have a choice of brown or black shoes to go with it, which ones would you wear? My workplace has a very strict dress code which includes shoes we can wear. We must have closed toe and closed heels so no mules or sling backs. I have a great pair of navy slingbacks but can't wear them here. I'm interested to hear what you think! Until next time...

  1. Congrats on the weight loss!

I would probably skip both brown and black and go for hot pink or red or even a cream. But if you must choose, pick the brown.

  3. Fabulous to be nominated!!! Go for black with blue. They make a stunning bruise look.

  4. I don't like black shoes with navy. It depends on the brown if it's suitable.

I prefer oxblood or burgundy or red shoes with navy. Or navy. Or nude. Or green, pink, taupe. :D

If it came down to HAVING to pick brown or black, I'd try both on and see which pair looked best, though I'd tend to default to brown, just cause I tend to hate how navy looks with black. Other blues, even some darker blues, go great with black. Navy, not so much in my eyes.

But black is considered acceptable with navy. I just don't like it.

I happen to love navy shoes. They are just so hard to find in a polished, nice shoe. I did find a great pair, beautiful, to wear with navy, but heels are a burden these days. Ah, well.

Invest in a good pair of burgundy/wine/deep red shoes. They go with black, navy, grey, and a host of other colors. In some cases even browns.

  5. Oh, a nice tan and metallics (copper, bronze, gold) look nice with navy, again, depending. :D

  9. Hey congrats on the weight loss progress, and I was really glad to see your blog on the nomination list, it's a great blog!

And I am lucky if I can find two shoes that match each other, let alone my pants, so I'll spare you any fashion advice.

And thanks so much for the kind words and the link!
