Lessons, Lasers and Lashes

Doing the happy Friday dance! This has been a pretty good week, thankfully. I went to the appt. for my momma. Basically, he gave me some tools to help with her memory.  Help bring some memories up so she can use her noggin. Just like any other muscle. If you don't use it, atrophy sets in. There is a lesson to be learned about that for sure.

Tomorrow is going to be an interesting day. I have a 9:00 a.m. appt to get Laser hair removal done on my chin.  I bought a package of 6 treatments and tomorrow is the 1st one.  I have done it before but it has been at least 10 years so I am sure technology has changed. When I did it before, it basically felt like rubber bands being snapped on my face.  I would use a numbing gel before hand and then use frozen wet paper towels to cool it down. Treatments are done every 4-6 weeks so I will be doing this monthly until the end of the year.  After the laser, I am going to get my eyebrows waxed and my eyelashes tinted at Alchemy. I have done this before as well but it has been a few years. I will try to do before and after shots for you so you can see the difference. It lasts about 6-8 weeks and the last time, I got away with not wearing mascara but looking like I was.

Tomorrow is my mom's 79th birthday. It was also my dad's birthday. He was 3 years older then her. We will be getting together with our extended family for an early dinner at the Olive Garden. I will be scoping out the menu before hand to come up with a plan. I'm not a pasta eater so that is a good thing calorie wise. I did see herbed salmon so that may be my choice but we'll see.

I am going to wear a dress to dinner! I got a Maxi dress and had my neighbor/friend hem it for me. I had her do it up to my ankles. I will add a short sleeved black (or white) sweater to hide my arms and I have picked out jewelry that will compliment it as well.
Merona® Womens Plus-Size Sleeveless Maxi Dress - Black/White.Opens in a new window

I will do my best to get some pictures of me in it. It is historical after all! As for Sunday, I have no plans. I need to stay out of the sun because of the laser treatment so I will pick some indoor activities.  I have been hankering to go swimming so maybe I will go to the gym to swim. Until next time...

Topic-o-rama Thursday

First things first... I lost 1 lb. this week. I am at 254. I am looking forward to seeing new terriotory. This is weight I have lost before but it is a loss nonetheless.

In an effort to accessorize more, this is a combanation I came up with

I have shown you the necklace before (the twofer) but I just found the earrings a few weeks ago. Actually, Danielle got them for me for my birthday. Found them at Kohl's while shopping with her a few weeks ago.

As I have mentioned before, there is quite a bit of construction going on at work. In the process of digging, they found these.

They also found cow bones on Friday when I was out. The archaeologist took them so I did not get to see them - bummer! The bottles are all ink bottles and are from two different companies. One is Carter's Ink and the other one is Sanford's Ink and Libray Paste. The property belonged to a school back in the 1940s so it would stand to reason they came from back then. I have done a little research on them but I want to do more. As for the bones, this entire area (Santa Clara Valley) was orchards and farms. They actually called it the Valley of heart's delight for its high concentration of orchards, flowering trees, and plants. Until the 1960s it was the largest fruit production and packing region in the world, with 39 canneries. Cool eh?

This is Greybird. She belongs to Danielle's boyfriend, Garret. She is an African Grey Parrot. What you can't see here is her bright red tail.

Say Hello Greybird!

See the hummingbird?
While we were sitting on the patio, a humminbird came and actually sat on the feeder and kicked it with Greybird underneath. I was amazed! It stayed there for a few minutes until another hummer came along and they flew away.

Tonight I am going to an appt. with my mom to the doctor. Not sure what I will do afterwards. We will all be getting together on Saturday so I will most likely just go home after the appt. I took Lemon Pepper chicken out of the freezer. Until next time...

Finding My Voice

I have always been a pretty vocal person.  Even as a little kid I talked to anyone that would listen.  Yes, I did get called Chatty Cathy on a number of occasions. I stayed this way through high school and college and I learned that it was a part of my personality that I was grateful for. It really came in handy in college with speeches and presentations. As an adult, I am always striving to be assertive not aggressive. If I am upset with a retailer or service provider, I try my best to make my point without raising my voice or being abrasive. Somewhere along the line though, I lost my voice. In hindsight, I believe it had a lot to do with self-esteem and self-worth.

In the last six months, I have turned that around some.  In the last week, I have been able to find my voice again and I am feeling strong. There were two occasions in the last week where I spoke to the other party and let them know how they had offended or disrespected me and that I stood behind my actions and in both cases they apologized and told me I was right and how sorry they were for offending me. Both situations were weighing pretty heavy on my heart so once they were resolved I felt like a huge weight has been lifted. Gives me hope moving forward. Until next time...

P.S. Anna Marie, can you please email me at katiejisonherway at gmail dot com :-)

NSV for Katie

Had a mellow night at home. Had chicken, rice and sugar snap peas for dinner. Those sugar snap peas are so crunchy and tasty. I really like them. Did some laundry and made it an early night. My sciatic nerve has been acting up so I did some streching and meditating before bed. What a difference it made.  I really need to do more streching.

On Friday, Danielle and I went to Costco to pick up various items for the golf tournament.  As we were walking in, I spotted some really cute beach chairs. I have a camping one that I use on my patio but I wanted a mobile one so I checked them out. They were a good price ($30) This is what it looks like

The Tommy Bahama Backpack Cooler Beach Chair is perfect for a day trip to the beach, park or camping. A lightweight, rust proof aluminum frame allows for easy transportation to and from the beach. This totally comfortable beach chair adjusts to 5 positions including a full recline. RELAX!

• Molded arms with cell phone holder & cup holder
• Insulated cooler pouch & storage pouch
• Adjustable pillow padded shoulder straps
• Durable 600 Denier polyester fabric.
• Rubber carry handle
• Folding towel bar
Weight capacity 300 lbs/136.5 kg

In the past, I would not have even looked at them. I have broken lawn chairs before and do not want to relive that nightmare ever again but this one said right on the label that it was durable enough to hold someone up to 300 lbs. so no worrying about it crumbling underneath me. That to me is a BIG NSV (Non Scale Victory)

Now, if I could only figure out how to fold it back up, I will be in business! Until next time...

P.S. Chica and Anna Marie, I can't comment on your blogs but I am still reading daily :-)

Birthdays and Buying Bulk

Hello my friends! How are you all doing? I've missed you guys!

Thank you so much for all of the wonderful birthday wishes. I had a great birthday overall. There were a few moments that I was really emotional but I will save that for another day.

On Thursday evening, I went to my mom's and Lena made Filet Mignon, Asparagus and a baked potato for dinner and they went to Cheesecake factory and got a mini cheesecake. We all had a tiny sliver. All three of our pieces did not equal one slice that they serve at the restuarant.  I planned on having another bite yesterday but I forgot about it.

Friday I got my pedi and got to hang out with Danielle. We went to Costco and did food prep for the golf tournament.  Saturday was the Golf tournament. It was a perfect day for it weather wise. It was in the upper 70s with a breeze. After the tournament we went back to Blinky's and had dinner. I only ate a few bites of the steak but loaded up on salad and fruit salad. Plus, I did not drink! Yay!!! I saved myself calories AND some $$.

Sunday, my brother, Bob took my mom and I out to lunch at the Elephant Bar and then to go see Brave. It was a pretty packed theatre as you can imagine since they just released it on Friday. It was amazingly quiet though during the movie. It was cute! I would even like to see it again. I really want to see Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted There was a gal sitting next to me and she was attending the movie alone. I have never been to a movie by myself before so I was chatting with her about that.  She gave me a few pointers and I will have to try it solo.

I have a friend who recently started working for a meat company. He and his boss came by after I got home from the movies and he was wheeling and dealing with me to try to buy a case or two. It was rather expensive so I was hesitant but I ultimately got a case of seafood and a case of free range chicken. I spent $350 but it is a lot of meat. My friend, Dan, was sweet and unpacked it all, labeled it and put it away for me. They are in individual portions so it would be really easy to pull a dinner together, just need a side and a veggie.

I happened to get on the scale this morning to asses damages from the weekend and I am actually down a pound so I call that a win. If you can make it through your birthday weekend AND lose a lb. that is a good thing! Until next time...

Summer Solstice

I had a rather productive evening. It really helped my mood actually. Part of my anxiety was some of the clutter in my bedroom so I used the timer method. I set the timer for 15 minutes and do the task at hand and then take a break and then do it again. As simple as it is, this technique really works for me. As long as it works right? Here is a pic of the corner of my room. It was piled high with laundry and pillows etc and here it is now.

Yes, that is a pillow pet - his name is Leonard. While I was searching for that link, I found Leonard a girlfriend. Her name is Dreamy. She is SO cute!

I decided that this week is a no weigh week. I am not going to weigh myself tomorrow. I will post it on the 28th.

Today is the Summer Solstice. It starts at 4:09 p.m. PST. Did you know that Solstice is the Latin word for "sun stand still" So, tomorrow is the official 1st whole day of summer and the longest day of the year. Until next time...

Apprehensive and Anxious

Had a lazy evening due to my over-imbibing on Sunday. I had a salad for dinner and was in bed by 9:00 p.m. I was so tired when I went to bed that I fell asleep without putting the CPAP on. As much as I hate that *&$%@# thing, it really does help me sleep better. They do have different designs now that are not so strappy and I really should check into it. The strap marks are there sometimes until noon!

I have been feeling a bit of anxiety lately. I think with the changes that have been happening in my life that it is just part of the process. Also, it has been a week or two since I talked to my mom. In the past, I shoved those feelings down with food and now I am dealing with them and it ain't easy.

June has always been a celebratory month in my family. First Father's Day, then my parents wedding Anniversary which is today.  They would have been married 60 years today if my dad was alive. Thursday is my birthday and then my folks were born on the same day three years apart which is June 30th. I am not feeling celebratory at all. In fact, I don't even have plans for my birthday. I am working that day but I am taking Friday off. The Blinky's (Memorial) Golf Tournament is on Saturday and Danielle needs some help with prizes and food prep etc. so I took the day off. I will get a much needed pedi on Friday morning. I will not be drinking this weekend. I will just take it one day at a time and I will get through it. Until next time...

P.S. Susan, I have not forgotten about you!

Green and Obscene

How was your weekend?

I'm green this morning. Self-inflicted but still green. I over indulged in cocktails yesterday but I had a really good day in spite of it.

Saturday I stayed at home and tried to organize things. It was a scorcher so I did my best to keep cool. I used the toaster oven to cook dinner because it was so hot but I wasn't up for bbq'ing.  Too hot to really do much of anything.

Sunday I was up early because I took Dave's granddaughter to work. I got my car washed and then called Danielle. It was the 1st time I have seen her since Dick passed and her trip to Seattle. We laughed and cried about him and the awesome things he did in his life. We went down to the bar so she could do some paperwork and that's when I started to imbibe... no meds and no insulin mind you... plus no food... recipe for disaster but I managed.

I generally try not to talk smack about anyone but... I can't help but share this:  What was obscene was this lady who was very ample in her chest and was exposing basically her entire torpedo boobs under a very tight and white spandex top. She is sporting like HH sized boobies. THEN on top of that she was wearing sheer leggings and you could see her entire dimply butt. I have no idea what the front looked like but the back was mortifying. It was obscene!! I am not a prude and believe in being and feeling sexy but that just crosses the line in my humble opinion. I have been ample most of my life and in my younger years, I did dress a little sexier but always tried to be tasteful about it. The worse thing I would show was a little cleavage. To each his/ her own I guess. Until next time...

Streaks and Shoes

Had a good night. I made some Dover Sole that turned out yummy. I breaded it with panko and then seasoned it with lemon pepper and assorted spices and it was delish. Served it with some Asian noodles and green beans. Plus I have leftovers now that I am cooking for one.

I saw this app on Steven's blog and thought it was a great way to show consecutive days of exercise. I did Just Dance 2 last night for 30+ mins so that was Day 1. My objective is to do 30 mins of exercise per day and track it here. At home I have another calendar which I will write what I did.

The comments I got about the gentleman I met at lunch Wednesday were interesting. Most of you said I should call him back and not let the time he called be an issue. But, the guys I spoke to about it said "booty call" bwahahahahaha... I will let him call me and we'll see what happens.

My employer has a very strict dress code. They are also very specific about what types of shoes we can wear. They must be closed toe and closed heeled. That means no sling backs, mules, peep toe or sandals which is a bummer because most of my shoes are those styles... anyhoozle... I have been buying my shoes from Easy Spirit for years. They used to have local retail shops but nothing is within a 100 mile radius now so I am forced to shop online. Of all the purchases I have made, I have never had a problem with them. I have only had to return 2 pairs out of say 15 pairs. Well the other day I ordered a pair of black pumps. They were $89 plus tax. I got them in the mail and opened the box up and smelled shoe polish. I thought it was kinda odd but when I pulled them out of the box I could see why

It is a little hard to tell but there is a big scuff mark on the top that they tried to cover with shoe polish. There is also some small marks on the side that were touched up.

In all the years I have been dealing with Easy Spirit, I have never had an issue but this was upsetting. Spending $89 on shoes is hard enough then to have them be damaged and resold straight up pissed me off.  I did call customer service and she was as surprised as I was. They are going to send another pair and will cover all the shipping costs to get me the new ones and return the old ones. Still a hassle but she was very apologetic which helped. Hope you have a good weekend. Happy Father's Day to those of you who will be celebrating. Until next time...

Sh*t and Recommit

S.H.I.T. = Sure Happy It's Thursday ---- Have you heard that before?

**Grrrrrrr! I had this whole post written out and I deleted it by mistake! Pffffffttttt!!!**

Mission accomplished with the grocery shopping. I did it backwards though. I went straight to the store and then got something to eat. I had a tuna sandwich from Togo's instead of sushi. Sushi is better with friends and unfortunately not many of my friends like sushi.

As I mentioned before, I am recommitting to losing this weight. I am shooting to be as close to 100 lbs. lost by Fitbloggin12 as possible. I am hovering at 255. Having something to shoot for worked for me before (Alaska Cruise) so I am hoping it will be enough incentive to do it again. Talking about it will get me no where though. Doing it is how I will achieve it!

I just had to share this. So yesterday I was on my lunch and a nice looking gentlemen approached me and started chatting.  He works in the neighborhood and asked me if I would like to go out for a glass of wine in the near future.  I thought it sounded good. He gave me his number and then I eventually texted him mine. So I was figuring it was about a 50/50 chance he would call but I was fine either way. He called at 9:57 p.m. last night! WTH??! You are not going to win points with me like that. It's not like it is that late but it is a week night. I did not call him back and probably won't. Oh well... Until next time...

Table Tales

Had a good evening. Thank goodness it was cooler then the night before. After dinner, I was sitting on my porch and this little family of birds were hanging out by the camellias. It appears that 3 of them are baby doves (you were right Kathryn!) and one of them is a sparrow of some sort. They have been coming by at the same time every day lately. The funny thing is, is that the sparrow bird is helping the baby doves eat - obviously not their momma... They are too cute! Noisy but cute.

The sparrow is on the top right
It was a bird kinda night because shortly after that I was sitting in my chair and a hummingbird hovered over my head for the longest time! I was wearing a red nightie and he must have thought I was a flower LMAO! It was so cool though.

Remember this table? I ordered it from Amazon and it was shipped by a company in Florida called Bealls. When it arrived, it had some minor cracks in it. I contacted Amazon/Bealls right away and they promptly responded saying I could throw away the table and they will refund my money. Well, I came up with a way to use it and you can't see the cracks. Voila!

I am really happy with it! I love that lighthouse and it looks better on the table vs. the floor. I don't usually turn it on but it really does add a nice ambiance to the room when it is lit.

My cupboards are completely bare! I must go grocery shopping! My plan of action is to get some sushi and then head across the street to the store. I will not go to the grocery store hungry and I won't stop home first either. If I go home - I will stay home. It's just the way I roll. Still adjusting to being on my own again. I really do enjoy the peace. Until next time...

Tidbits for Tuesday

Last night was pretty uneventful. It was still in the 90s when I got home and I don't have A/C. Actually, I recently got an Air Conditioner but have yet to install it. I could probably do it on my own but I did ask a friend to put it in for me and I am hoping he does it soon. Otherwise, I will ask a guy from work who does our facilities maintenance. He would be willing to do it for me.

I was thinking about names for my "future" puppy and I think I will name her Kasha. Kasha is actually a variant of Katherine in Yiddish. My grandmother used to call me Kasha and I have always liked it. The other name I was thinking of is Keke which is Katherine in Hawaiian. Fun to think about even if it doesn't happen. Being that I work full time, I am not sure it would be fair to the pup. Still contemplating...

Did I tell you about the hot stone massage? First of all, it is a whole different experience when you are nekkid. The stones felt good for the most part but at one point they were too hot and I let her know right away. Seemed like a lot of fumbling around for the stones; placing them, removing them, replacing them again...  They were used as part of the massage as well and it was extra relaxing with the heat but I am not sure that I would do it again. I had a coupon for my birthday so it was a nice to at least try it. Next time I think I will try aromatherapy. Until next time...

Rested and Really?

Good morning! It actually is a good morning and shhhhh it's Monday. It is a beautiful day outside and it is going to get into the 80s today which is our normal for this time of year. The temps here have definitely been below normal until now.

Had a restful weekend. I did not go to lunch with my family on Saturday. It was just too stressful for me to deal with and my sinuses were going crazy all weekend so it was just as well. I cleaned, napped and read on Saturday for the most part. Eating was good. Did not go overboard.  Sunday I did some shopping (returns) and also visited with my friends D & K. They have Yorkshire terriers and this is one of the babies from the last litter. She was the runt and her name is Ruby. She was super squirmy so it took me forever to get a picture and this is the best of them. The momma is preggers again and I am considering getting one of the puppies. I want a girl. I need to come up with a good name... hmmm...

Have you seen the commercials for the As Seen on TV? Yes, I am one of "those" people who fall for their shpeels. I don't always buy them but they always seem to pique my interest. The Orgreenic Kitchenware was my latest purchase. They claim that you don't need to use oil, butter or grease to cook with it. This is from their website:

As you saw on TV, Orgreenic lets you cook healthy food safely and quickly! Because of its super hard, durable all natural ceramic coating, Orgreenic sears in the juices and flavor of your food without releasing toxic gases. And, you don't need to add high calorie oils and butter! Best of all, absolutely nothing sticks to it! Just run the sauté pan under water and it wipes clean!

I tried it for the first time yesterday. I made some sunny side up eggs and it actually worked just like they said it would! They slide right out with no scraping and they were done perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised! One of the cool benefits of this pan is that it can go from the stove top to the oven so you can bake, broil, braise, fry, steam and saute in the same pan. Can't beat that huh? I will try other things in it and let you know how it holds up. Do you ever buy the As Seen on TV items? Until next time...

Timeless Wisdom

Ladies and Gentlemen:

If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience…I will dispense this advice now: Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh never mind; you will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded. But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked….You’re not as fat as you imagine. Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday. Do one thing everyday that scares you. Sing. Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with people who are reckless with yours. Floss. Don’t waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes you’re behind…the race is long, and in the end, it’s only with yourself. Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you succeed in doing this, tell me how. Keep your old love letters; throw away your old bank statements. Stretch. Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your life…the most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year olds I know still don’t. Get plenty of calcium. Be kind to your knees, you’ll miss them when they’re gone. Maybe you’ll marry, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll have children, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll divorce at 40, maybe you’ll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary…what ever you do, don’t congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either – your choices are half chance, so are everybody else’s. Enjoy your body, use it every way you can…don’t be afraid of it, or what other people think of it, it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever own.. Dance…even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room. Read the directions, even if you don’t follow them. Do not read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly. Get to know your parents; you never know when they’ll be gone for good. Be nice to your siblings; they are the best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future. Understand that friends come and go, but for the precious few you should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the people you knew when you were young. Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard; live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft. Travel. Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will philander, you too will get old, and when you do you’ll fantasize that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children respected their elders. Respect your elders. Don’t expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund, maybe you have a wealthy spouse; but you never know when either one might run out. Don’t mess too much with your hair, or by the time you're 40, it will look 85. Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth. But trust me on the sunscreen…***********************************************************************************

This is a song by Baz Luhrman which came out in 1999.The words to me are timeless and I wanted to share. Enjoy yourself today! Until next time...

Hot Stuff!

Happy Friday!!! Woot Woot! This has been a funky week and I am just glad it's over. I am looking forward to having a nice weekend. The only thing I have "planned" is to take Dave's granddaughter to work and go to lunch with my family. I am a little apprehensive about the lunch because my cousin and I had a text exchange about my mom and we did not agree. He wanted me to force her to attend a family dinner. I disagreed. She does not want to be seen in her current state and I get it. Just because he is older does not make him wiser, that is for sure. Lunch should be interesting tomorrow... I plan on keeping quiet...

I am getting a hot stone massage. I have never had one with stones. Here is the description from their website:
I prefer a medium pressure massage. One of the massages I did last year actually hurt me afterwards because the pressure was so hard so I am more verbal about the pressure now.  I meant to tell you guys that when I did it last month, I finally decided to go nudie patootie. I had no issues and she was actually able to work on my hip muscles which were fairly sore so I am over it now. I am paying good money so why not enjoy it fully right?

I got a Groupon for Glass Blowing as a gift to myself. I am fairly crafty as I have mentioned before and I have always been interested in glass blowing but to take regular classes is expensive so this is a great way to try something new less expensively.  The class is for two hours and we will be making bowls. I am excited about it. Hopefully, I can schedule something soon. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Until next time...

Candy and KlutchClub

Had an uneventful evening. I was emotionally spent so I just took it easy and went to bed early. I woke up this morning feeling a lot better and well rested, thank goodness. I did peek at the scale again this morning and its moving some so that is a nice way to start the day. Come on new decade!

The last day of school for us is tomorrow. We have construction going on due to some expansion as well as some computer labs being installed in our building in the basement. With the construction comes all the contractors and boy howdy is there lots of eye candy walking around. Makes coming to work a tad more exciting if you get my drift ;-)

A few weeks ago I was reading a post by Emily from Fit and Free with Emily She was talking about getting Klutched. What is Klutch you ask? KLUTCHclub is a new monthly subscription service that sends a hand-picked and “themed” box of holistic health, fitness and wellness products – organic protein bars, workout wear, skincare products, teas, etc. – right to your doorstep every month, making it a no brainer to incorporate healthier choices with ease. Members learn about new, niche brands and products that suit their lifestyles, and get access to exclusive deals and offers from companies that share their values. Each box is full of $50+ of products, but only costs subscribers around $17 a piece.
This is what I received for May. I will be getting a new one around mid month:
Hydroxatone’s Instant Effect 90 Second Wrinkle Reducer will help your skin look radiant even after sun exposure. This is THE product for all those pictures you’ll take to capture summer memories. Forget Botox and try this one-of-a-kind $70 serum risk-free!

I think this is such a cool idea. I love trying new products so this is right up my alley plus @ $17.00 a box, it is not breaking the bank. Right now I am signed up until August but I may extend it after that. I read the bio's of the gals behind the company and I was impressed. I happened to get a broken pump on the Hydroxatone and emailed them about it and received a prompt response letting me know they were sending a replacement that same day. Now that's customer service! Until next time...

Hoping and Coping

I had a pleasant but emotional evening. I ended up spending a couple hours at the salon. First the haircut and then I got a facial and my upper lip and eyebrows done. Feels good to have happy brows again. My is Nicole and she asked me not to go anywhere else for my eyebrows and I agree with her. Sometimes cheaper is not better. Threading does last longer but I don't want to ever walk around with mismatched brows again. I made another appt. with her in 4 weeks and when I go in, I am going to have her tint my eyelashes. Have you ever heard of that or done it? I had done it a few years ago and was really pleased with the results. I did not have to wear mascara for at least 8 weeks. That will be perfect for summer right? Especially for swimming.

The scale has been bouncing up and down lately and has been progressively going down again over the last week or so. I will start posting weight stats again on the 14th which is a week from tomorrow. I will be back to exercising more regularly and should finally see the scale continually moving downward instead of the back and forth with the same 5 lbs. I would like to lose be in the 240s by my 46th birthday which is June 21st. Until next time...
