Rings & Things

No screen shot for the weekend. I did not have my bugg on at all. It was a productive weekend though. My goal was to get the kitchen unpacked which I did. I still haven't used it because I had leftovers from takeaways (Marcelle!) Food for the weekend was okay. I did not eat stellar but I did not go overboard either. I guess the scale will tell me Wednesday.

As I was sorting through my stuff it got me to thinking about rings. I have always wanted to wear rings but being wearing a Size 13 ring only gives you a very small selection and most of them are designed for men. I have decided that one of my Smilestone treats will now be a ring. I would like to get it as a symbol of making it to Onederland which is 63 lbs. from now. I will start looking for one and let you all know what I decided. It most likely will be silver though because that is what I wear and what my budget will allow. Until next time...

  1. I love my silver rings - I have very pale skin and gold looks bad on me. I have loads with various inexpensive, semi-precious stones in them. The bigger the better! I think I'm about a size 8 or 8.5 (UK equivalent is Q or R) but I can get down to an O (size 7) at my slimmest - I have very large hands with long fingers. And don't let's even talk about my feet - US size 12! Enough said..! At my biggest I needed a size V-and-a-half which I think is a size 11 and rings in that size were pretty limited, so I can understand why you're finding it tricky to get a nice one. :o( I definitely think a treat like that would be justified once you get below 200lbs. :o) That's my (interim) goal weight, so not sure what I'll reward myself with once I get there!

  4. Love the ring idea - that's what I did when I reached 50 pounds lost (I call it my "50 pound ring") - I still feel so proud every time I wear it. Can't wait to see what you choose for your special ring!

  5. what a wonderful idea for the ring cannot wait to see what you chose as well. As for the not eating stellar that is alright I am sure that you have burned alot of calories, I know moving boxes lifting and unpacking and putting things away can burn a hefty amount of calories.

  6. Great Smilestone gift! I have always had fat fingers, even when I am thin.

I like that you call it a smilestone!

  9. Terrific idea!
My dh is going to have my wedding ring redone for our 10th anniversary & I can't wait. I haven't worn them in about a month because they slip off too easily for around the house (cleaning, constant hand washing, baking bread) & it bugs me.

Tina - I love that ring! What a terrific choice!

    Have fun shopping around Katie!

  13. Well that's weird I swear I commented earlier today. Oh wellll....Anyway I'm thinking of getting a tattoo for hitting Onderland. I've always wanted a ladybug on my foot and recently I saw some UBER cute henna looking tats and I'd like to work the ladybug into that.

  15. What a fantastic gift to yourself for onederland!

I haven't worn my wedding diamond/band or my mom's ring in years. I miss them, too.

  16. such a great idea. :) i wear/wore a size 10. all of my 10's slide off my fingers. I'm guessing I'm closer to an 8.5-9 now. I have this silver ring my grandma gave me for christmas 2 years ago that is a 7 (and they weren't willing to size up anymore than 1 size, if that). I keep it on my dresser and periodically try it on to see if I'm making any progress in getting my fingers smaller. I can get it past my knuckle, but that's about it (its getting closer). I tried it on yesterday and almost got it stuck ON. Haha!
Be sure to post what you end up getting :) You can do it!

  17. Hey Katie! I love that you call them your smilestones. :) Great idea with the ring! So I notice all this activity about the Bugg on your site, but I can't seem to find a post where you explain what that is. Can you direct me that way... I'd love to find out more! Keep up the good work and don't forget to post Wednesday Fall into Fitness Weigh-In!
