Tuesday Tidbits

I wanted to thank you all for you kind comments on yesterday's post. It does get easier with time but it still hurts. Had an uneventful night last night. Had soup and a tuna sandwich for dinner. Dave was super sweet and got me flowers and was very attentive all evening. I only got on the Wii for like 5 minutes - I just did not have the energy to do much of anything. I did organize my new spice rack though. HG got it for us. It came with its own labels but I wanted them all to match so I did them all myself. I even put them in alphabetical order :-o

Speaking of HG, today is supposed to be his last day. He is waiting for his car repair to be finished and he will be on his way. As I mentioned before, he doesn't have anywhere to go but it can't be our responsibility anymore. What was supposed to be a few weeks turned into 6 months and it is time - I am just done. One thing that I am looking forward to (amongst many) is for my living room not to smell boozie and smoky (from him) when I get up in the morning. Blechhh... Sidenote: I smoke outside on my porch.

Tonight a group of 12 of us are going to dinner at the Redi Room. It is a local bar that serves food on Tuesday's and Sunday's. They have Prime Rib, Salmon and Chicken Terryaki with a salad, baked potato and garlic bread for $11. I always order the salmon and it is always delish. The key will be for me not to drink. Especially in light of the fact that I am weighing tomorrow. Until next time...

  1. I hate when I go out the night before I weigh in. I end up feeling like I can't enjoy myself bc I end up going overboard the opposite direction.

Flowers.. You are a lucky girl

PS. I am jealous of that spice rack.. To cool!!

  2. Love your spice rack! I recently got a couple new racks, too. We like to make a lot of indian food, so that takes like a zillion spices lol. So I also relabeled mine because I wanted them to match - hehe!!

Glad you'll have your living room back. I'm sure it's not easy telling someone to leave, but you're right, he's taking advantage! Does he not realize (or care) that his being there is actually bringing stress to others! Gah! Anyway, I hope he figures things out soon, but it's not your responsibility.

    Hugs to you!

  3. Just read your post from yesterday Katie, thank you for sharing. My dad passed away a year and a half ago and it still quite fresh.

It's wonderful that you have so many great memories of your dad and that he guides you in this journey we call life.

Hope you were able to get through the day with fond memories.

I love that you alphabitize your spice rack, that's so great :-)

  4. How sweet of your hubby to get you flowers.

That spice rack is so cute. I have my spices in alphabetical order as well!

    Enjoy your night out.

  5. That spice rack is AWESOME!! I want one! :)

You are doing fabulous Katie! It looks like your deficit is on point for today! You are an inspiration girl!

PS Thank you so much for your encouraging words on my blog! It means so much to me! :)

You are a woman after my own heart - I love that spice rack!

  7. cute rack-haha-glad you are getting your living room back-rejoice~

  8. I keep my necklaces in your spice rack! Well, not YOUR spice rack, but those magnetic containers - they are so handy!

    Yay for the HG's departure!!!

  9. I am so sorry I missed your post the other day, Sorry to hear about your Dad, you have many wonderful memories, thank you for sharing. My Dad died almost a year ago now. So I understand your loss. Blessings to you my friend. I have a bunch of the spice jars. Your doing awesome. take care.

  10. Cool spice rack...I was gonna say NICE RACK lol :)

Im sad you can't make it on Saturday! Maybe we can get together another time :)

  11. I hope you can find balance tonight. You're probably out there right now. Have fun AND be careful. You'll do fine. Celebrate your living room being livable again!

  12. I could be "that guy" and simply say "nice rack!".

But seriously, I have the same thing, but just a single steel strip with about 4 magnetic spice jars.

Enjoy cooking healthy stuff with it!

I'd love to know what's on your mind...
