Summer Reading

Nothing notable to mention about yesterday on the food front. I was not in the mood to cook so I had an egg salad sandwich for dinner.  I really have been cooking more for myself. Not every night but much better then before. It is helping that I have fish and chicken stocked up and then some. All I need to do is come up with a veggie and a side and I am good to go.

A while back I was reading Bethenny Frankel's book called A Place of Yes. I highly recommend it! She had a pretty dysfunctional upbringing but still managed to be very successful. Reading that book gave me the strength to break up with Dave.

After that, I started reading Moose: A Memoir of Fat Camp. I got through about 40% of the book and gave up on reading it. While I did like her writing style, the subject matter was booooring... Maybe because I actually went to Fat camp, that I felt it was redundant.  I decided that I wasn't going to finish it so I didn't.

Right now, I am reading this book:
Think Like a Cat -- How to Raise a well-adjusted cat not a sour puss. Since it has been over 25 years since I owned a cat, I thought it was worthwhile reading. I am already a couple chapters in and have already learned a few things. One thing was to get them used to noise so I put Animal Planet on the TV so it is not quiet when he's home alone.

The other books I have in my queue are Summer Rental by Mary Kay Andrews and Skinnydipping by Bethenny Frankel Both are lighthearted books that should be perfect for summer reading. I need a little fiction to balance it out.

If you have a Kindle, there is a blog that has free books from Amazon for you to load on your e-reader.  It has a summary of the book as well as the rating and selling price.  I have quite a few books from there and I think it is worth checking out.  Until next time...
