Happy New Year, everyone! Hope you had a safe and sane New Year's! I had a 3 day weekend since the 1st was on Sunday so I took advantage of the time off and used it wisely. It was great getting things off of my to-do list.
I went to sleep at 9:30 p.m. on New Years Eve lol. I was not in the mood to party and there wasn't anyone for me to kiss so it was just fine with me. Honestly, it felt great to be awake and not hungover starting the new year.
I planted my poinsettia on Sunday. Did you know that they can grow up to 16 feet tall? Helen said in Africa they are actually trees! Whoa! I hope it grows into a nice shrub because the spot I put it really needs some color.
I spent a lot of time in these which kept me warm and cozy. My utility bill was almost $200 which is highly unusual but I have had the heat cranking lately so time to bundle up and put slippers/sockies.Here are all my Christmas decos packed up and ready to put away. I purged a lot of decos this year and gave them away so there is a lot less then when I started. Everything looks so plain now that it's all put away.
I played on the Wii for awhile too. I ditched all the players that I no longer needed and then added one for my friend Karla. She is coming over tomorrow to play so I wanted her to have her character already set up.
Last night I made a roast in the crock pot and it came out delish! I just used a can of French Onion soup, added seasonings and cooked it for 4-5 hours. Had it with garlic mashed potatoes and a salad. Yummy and I can use the leftovers for tacos or something else.
I also got my eyebrows threaded and a pedicure. The color on my toes is Get A Grip by Orly which is like a deep purple. I would have taken a picture but my toes are no longer cute...
Dave stayed the weekend again but he will be leaving tomorrow. We actually had a heart to heart talk and really came to peace with some of our issues. I do enjoy his company and having someone to cook for but I am looking forward to have the place to myself again. Until next time...
