Full Moon Rising

Had a good day yesterday. I rode my bike to the Post Office and to my friend Danielle's to help her pack for a trip. I was a little worried about riding at night because I haven't put the headlight on that I got for my birthday and it is illegal not to have one. I did fine though and it felt great! What was super cool was that it was almost a full moon and it was SO bright and beautiful. I tried to take a picture with my phone but it didn't work.

I made a slight adjustment to my program in the bodybugg system. In keeping with my 80 lb. goal by the end of the year I set up a mini-goal of 20 lbs. by October 7th. It made the target deficit 750 cals which is only 100 more then before so I shouldn't have trouble achieving it. I have a TON of laundry to do tonight so I think I will try a new DVD that Nicole gave me called Core Rhythms. Have any of you tried it? At first glance it kinda looks like Zumba so it will probably be good. Until next time...

  1. Katie, I love the diagram, my only question is how do you figure out how many calories you consumed and burned, it must be an estimate, because it is very hard to get exact numbers.
Great job getting on the bike!!
Thanks for the thoughts on my blog!!

  2. Emmett, I am using a bodybugg and that is the screenshot of my data.

From their web page: In addition to measuring motion and steps, the bodybugg® is able to see how much you are sweating, your skin temperature and the rate at which heat is being dissipated from your body. These additional physiological parameters give the bodybugg® a more complete picture of what your body is doing and its level of exertion, all of which means a much more accurate estimation of your calories burned.

I do my best to input all the calories I consume. Most of it is fairly straight forward (packaging and portion size) but sometimes it is hard to estimate restaurant food and some homemade foods. It really helps me see where I am at and I can make adjustments based on activity level or lack there of...

  3. I have tried the Core Rhythms! I found it to be a blast. I like doing a few minutes of the Kick Start dvd after strength training sometimes. I find the two hosts very amusing. I like laughing when working out, so it's right up my alley.

  8. I love the mini-goals! That's all I do on the BodyBugg site. I usually set them at 10 or 15 lbs. It's so much more gratifying to reach a mini-goal every month or two and then to have to set a new one. :-) It's even better to reach it early. Good luck on the Oct. 7th one.
