Every Rose Has It's Thorn
Every rose has its thorn
Just like every night has its dawn
Just like every cowboy sings his sad, sad song
Every rose has its thorn
I had a good time at the concert last night! I had a Chicken Sandwich and a Fat Tire for $21.50 and thought it was insane to pay that price but oh well... I did 9,344 steps and 58 minutes of activity according to the bugg. But then I drank beer... I need to stop drinking beer! I went 7 months and 25 days without it so I can do it again... Poison ended up being the best. We missed Cheap Trick and the sound was funky when Def Leppard played. We left early anyway to avoid the crowds...
When I was pulling into my carport when I got home from work (before the concert) I misjudged the distance between my car and the pole and have a big 'ole scrape down the right side. The door is a little dented as well and is now difficult to open. I have pulled into that spot 1,000s of times but a large truck just recently started parking next to me so I have had to make adjustments. Well I guess I adjusted wrong. I feel like a complete LOSER! Dave was just telling me to be careful when pulling in there. Could it be the mirror I broke the other day? Maybe the full moon tomorrow? Big sigh...
Going to Fish Market for dinner tonight. I haven't seen my mom for a week and a half which is pretty unusual but I think I just needed a little reprieve from her. The last few times we got together she was pretty grumpy and she just sucked the last shred of energy that I had. I am looking forward to seeing her though.
Kristina over at The Incredible Shrinking Woman gave me a Lovely Blog award. Thank you SO MUCH. You are too kind! Until next time...

Ouch, that sucks about your car and the pole! Don't beat yourself up over it...accidents happen. The only time you should call yourself a loser is when you step on the scale, missy!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you...and hope you have a good dinner with your mom tonight!
Oh no! I'm sorry about the car. Car repairs are such a hassle.
ReplyDeleteYou did still have a small deficit yesterday, but I think you might be right about needing to cut the beer for a bit. Maybe just making a short term goal of "no beer for 20 days" or something like that is in order? Enough to get some momentum going and give you a bit more confidence in your ability to do it.
And for the record, you shouldn't be lacking confidence. I know you've had a rough bit with that 4 pound gain, but just think of how much you've done and how far you've gone already. You've lost 50 pounds. That's HUGE. Stop by your progress pics page! I challenge you not to be impressed with yourself. You're doing a great job, Katie, I know you can do this.
Ouch about the car. We all do silly things like that, though, so don't sweat it.
ReplyDeleteMy husband quit drinking 18 years ago and still craves a beer on a hot summer day. He'll have a near beer every once in awhile. I wonder the calorie count on those. Not the same, I know.
The concert sounds fun. Too bad about Def's sound--they're my favorite.
Sorry about your car - I've done similar! It was a tree I hit, though...
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had fun at the concert, though! Enjoy your time with mom...
Jo - O'douls has about 70 cals. which is good but I don't know if I would like the taste. Plus I am going for the buzz if you know what I mean ;-)
ReplyDeleteKatie...I LOVE your blog and have awarded you the One Lovely Blog Award. You can collect it at: http://hgr8scot.blogspot.com/2009/09/and-award-goes-to.html
ReplyDeleteThat sucks about your car!! The concert sounds like a blast. I totally understand about the beer. I have certain friends that I can't be around without indulging in beer, margaritas, or pork rinds. Or all of the above. EEKK!! I guess it's kind of good that I've been too busy for them lately.
ReplyDeleteLook on the bright side: free racing stripes!
ReplyDeleteNot funny Jack!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Was there platinum in your sandwich?
ReplyDeleteFeel for ya on the car.
Congrats on your award! Sorry about the car though.
ReplyDeleteI used to love Poison. Would love to see them. Sounds like you had a good time.
ReplyDeleteBummer about your car - I had a really challenging garage when I lived in San Francisco - my car had several dents from the darn pole... Do you ever come out to the coast in Half Moon Bay? Let me know if you would be interested in going for a walk on the beach or a hike sometime. It is fun to be following a local blogger! Hope you had a good day today.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about your car, and sorry to hear about the sound at the show! I heard that Joe has larygitis, which is too bad because he has been sounding fantastic on this tour! Maybe next time...
ReplyDeleteDrat the luck, eh?
ReplyDeleteOMG Kat! I LOVE HMB! We go camping there at St. Francis State Beach and I love going to Ketch Joanne's at Pillar Point. What a small world! Shelley is from Santa Clara which is where I live now... woooow
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the car. About a year ago I busted the side mirror on my van backing out of the garage.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I blamed my distraction on the little ones but I think I had done it so many times that I was just a bit too much on autopilot. Oh well, what ya gonna do?
Hope it isn't too costly to repair!
Sounds like a fabulous concert! Ahhh, 80s hair bands...loved them then, still love them now. ;)
Yep, sounds like beer is not your friend. Tell beer to hit the road & I bet those 3lbs will follow. But you know that already. :)
Have a great weekend!
Lynn
