Insult to Injury

I am feeling better today thank goodness. Today is weigh day and I wasn't going to add insult to injury but I did and I am up 3 lbs. No activity, no bodybugg, no loss. I am not that surprised. What is frustrating is I have gained and lost the same 3 lbs. for a few weeks now and not making any progress. I will not beat myself up about it though. Moving onward and upward!

Last night I went to grab dinner with Dave. I arrived a little early so I perused the thrift store and I found The Firm Cardio Workout DVD for $5 as well as a Morning Chi video for $2. You inspired me Jo! I will try them over the weekend and let you know how they are.

No big plans for the weekend. Will see my mom for the first time in a few weeks. She wants to do a little shopping on Sunday. It will be nice to see her but I am still a little apprehensive about it. She asked me if I would go with her so I guess she does want to see me.

  1. Awww, I'm sorry about that damnable 3 pounds. It feels like there are a few points where are body just has a lot of trouble getting past them. I've been wavering between 250 and 248 since pretty much the beginning of September, and it's been driving me insane. You will get through this, though, and once you're past the rough spot things will be easier.

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better, and I hope you have as much success with The Firm DVDs as Jo's been having. Take care!

  4. Hi Katie,
I can so relate to your post. I had a rocking year last year and it all started unraveling after we moved. It took me almost a year to get myself back in the groove. I am still about 10 pounds higher than my lowest last year. Being kind and gentle with myself seems to work better for me than beating myself up. I hope your injury is feeling better. We leave Monday on vacation for a week. Maybe we can calendar a walk in the harbor or a hike on the mavericks cliffs sometime in Oct? Have a good weekend. xoxo Kat

  5. Sorry about the gain, but hopefully it will drop off quickly once you get to moving again.

Hope you have a nice day with your mom - stay strong, Katie!

  6. These bounces are part of figuring it all out. Take what you learned from it and use it. If it takes a few more bounces, so be it. Good attitude in not beating yourself up.

Have a great weekend Katie J!

  7. You will get past this point. The 3 lbs will come off easily. I totally know what it's like not wearing the Bugg. I know I can't (and don't want to) wear it for the rest of my life but I'll have to work on my life without it. Everything does go downhill.

  9. sorry about the gain, and while you can stress about the numbers, just get back on track and it will melt off. You know where you made the change and you know what you have to claw it back. :)

  10. Those 3lbs just don't want to leave lovely you, do they?

I think you are going to have to power through them and keep on powering through out the other side. Then you wont look back.

Go for it, you know you want to!

  11. Now you have confronted those 3 pounds and you can start going down again. I always find it a relief to find out 'the worst' on the scale, rather than having that I-know-it's-a-gain weigh in hanging over me.
