Fat fills in the wrinkles

As you can tell I ate more then usual yesterday. I am surprised to even have a deficit. I did not binge but I had pizza as a snack. Dave got his car serviced and it ran late so so did dinner. I couldn't wait and just grabbed what was handy. We had Tilapia for dinner which was okay. Of all the fish it is probably my least favorite (hate catfish) but you can doctor it up pretty easily so it is palatable.

People usually peg me at least 5-7 years younger then I am which is flattering. I always joke with people and say I look so young because the fat fills in the wrinkles. Well, I have been noticing more wrinkles on my face lately. I know that this is a natural part of aging and I accept that (don't have to like it) but I think there is an element of truth in my joke which makes me fret. I am doing my best to keep my skin moisturized and I think I will start going to the local beauty college and start getting facials. They are supervised and are like a 1/3 of the cost of going to a salon so that appeals to me. I know drinking more water would help hydrate my skin as well.

Hoping to go to Ikea tonight which will be an adventure! That place is freaking huge. We will be getting some major walking in for sure. I will make sure to wear my bodybugg to see how many. They do have a cafe on site as well so hopefully they will have something I can eat. The sun is peeking out this morning so it is a nice reprieve from all the rain. Hope you are having a great week! Until next time...

  1. I used to have such a smooth face...but you know what? Even though the lines and wrinkles are much more predominant, people tell me that I look younger now that I've lost weight. So I guess I'll take that, lol!

Have fun at Ikea - where is it?

  2. Oh! Ikea is so much fun. I really love walking around there (and buying things!) but I always tend to be pretty exhausted by the end of the trip.

The food at Ikea is great (and cheap!) but I remember reading somewhere that the meatballs are pretty calorific, so be careful.

Those facials sound like a great idea! And I'm sure the wrinkles aren't even a quarter as bad as you think they are.

  3. Hi Katie! It's funny you posted about this. I totally agree with you. People have never been able to guess my real age and often think I'm much younger than my 46 years. However, since I've been losing weight I now have been noticing more wrinkles!!! I too use moisturizer, but the wrinkles won't stop appearing!

Fat is a WONDERFUL wrinkle filler!

We have an IKEA here, but I've never set foot inside. Sounds like an adventure! I should go check it out!!

    Have a great time!

  4. I heard some "research" that says as we age, we should strive to carry about 10 extra pounds to avoid looking gaunt. So I figure my extra 50 pounds should make me look about 30. Ha, ha.

  6. I'm lucky that I don't (think!) I look my age either... :o) Have fun at Ikea - it's a nightmare over here as the place is usually rammed with shoppers!

  7. I love Ikea's Swedish meatballs but I think they're pretty unhealthy if I've heard right!

Don't be afraid of wrinkles- They're just a product of life lived. But I can understand how you'd feel!

  8. That's interesting. My post that is scheduled for tomorrow is about a similar topic. I recently ran into an old friend and didn't recognize him because he had aged so much. I'll take the wrinkles over the extra weight. No one ever died from too many wrinkles.

  9. I just try to stay away from having too much sun and to drink my water, everything else will fall into place. My grammy had the sweetest fast with the cutest laugh lines and I strive to have them too.

  12. Aw geez, now ya tell me!
As if it isn't enough that I'm 34...29?...and still dealing with acne but now the weight loss will make the teensy wrinkles I've just started noticing worse??

And under chin sag? Well, poop!

Have fun shopping! I'm amazed by the burn when I spend an hour at Sams. :)

  13. We lived in Mountain View in Norcal. In all our trips to the Ikea there in East Palo Alto (I assume that is where you are headed, cuz I don't remember one in San Jose), I never had a single Swedish meatball or a cinnamon roll from the cafe...wanted it all sooo badly, but managed to avoid it.

  16. I adore the promise of IKEA and yet I get there, grow IMMEDIATELY overwhelmed, and leave with nothing.

I need to just admit that to myself and use the catalog :)

  18. I made the choice to be a wrinkled old lady when I croak, I don't want to be a youthful looking corpse.

  19. Hi Katie. I think if you lose A LOT of weight then you will see more wrinkles. But the thing is they were there all the time, it was just the fat holding your skin in a taut position.

I was asked for identity today at a cash till - I had to prove I was over 21. I'm 38! Hurray! (Not bragging or anything. Just genuinely happy!)
