I did well on food yesterday AND water! Note to self: Drink water during the day so you don't have to get up and pee during the night. It was a little relentless getting all that water in and I did feel pretty sloshy but I will try again today. I got on the scale this morning to face the music and I am up 7 lbs. I am upset about it but all I can do is move forward. By the way, did you know that 4 - 16.9 ozs. of water weighs 5 lbs? Another thing that did cross my mind though is TOM. TMI ahead for those of who are squeamish. I have an IUD called Mirena and I don't get a period. I couldn't tell you the last time I had one. Now, I do experience other symptoms like bloating, moodiness, etc. but without the bleeding. I am due to be seen at the gyno so I will ask her about it.
Nothing on the agenda this evening. Dinner will most likely be chicken. I would like to do a workout DVD. It will require making HG leave for awhile but tough tu-tus. Why should I put things on hold for him? It will be a non-issue soon enough but I am up to my eyeballs with the situation. I just want it to be done and over with. He is a good guy don't get me wrong but I am just done with having him be a bump on the couch. Anyways, it should be interesting to see how it plays out. Until next time...
Well, the water is probably part of that 7 pounds - don't let it get you down! It takes a bit of time for your body to adjust to having that much water ingested every day.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the HG situ...
hi katie :) thanks for checking up on me always at times I need it most :)
ReplyDeleteJust keep at it Katie. I think a lot of us are going to have an easier time once the weather really shifts and we can be outside more. I know that's the case for me. I love that you said, "...all I can do is move forward." Right on, girl. We can do this. We are doing it!
ReplyDeleteAs Leslie says, gotta keep at it. And... you have to drink water to flush it out... Make sense of that if you will, but it works! Hope your TOM isn't too grotty...
ReplyDeletehi katie :) thanks for checking up on me always at times I need it most :)
ReplyDelete- oops - I left you a comment on my age-old account that i forgot about "livsmommy" lol - sorry!
Ive missed you katie j!!! I just took a look at the new pics-youre doing fabulous doll! Keep up the amazing work!
ReplyDeleteThe above have all said it but I'll ditto - the water could be part of the gain & your body will adjust...but you already know that. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat attitude about the gain & about working out. I kick my dh out when I'm doing a workout DVD, too. Riding the bike, doing weights - no big, but I feel like an idiot with most of the DVD workouts & don't want an audience.
Best wishes,
Lynn
That little icon on the side that says fat is seriously cute-haha-hope you don't feel fat for long-you shouldn't you are still doing great!~
ReplyDeleteI want to give you all the rah-rah speech, but I am still faking it myself!
ReplyDeleteP.s. I hope I don't get a period I just had the IUD put in last month!
I need to start drinking my water earlier too! I always have to get up and pee!
ReplyDeleteI am sure the majority of it is water weight; don't stress out about it just yet. :)
ReplyDeleteGood job on guzzling that water! I make it a point for me to stop drinking about 2 hours before bed or I will never sleep!
ReplyDeleteYep, sounds like TOM is the culprit...I had a Mirena too, and once I hit about 80 pounds lost, my cycles came back with a vengence, so I just wanted to warn you just in case! (I had mine taken out, just to see if it would help, and it did a little).
ReplyDeleteJust wait - your next weigh in will be unbelievable!
Ugh! 7 pounds! No fair. I hope it flushes away soon. deb
ReplyDeleteOh man I hate getting up all night to use the bathroom because I drank too much water, too late! I'm sure your next weigh in will go much better. It's amazing how much water weighs, isn't it? It's like a 1/2 lb per cup.
ReplyDeleteI don't need an IUD.
ReplyDeleteGo figure.
Katie, you'd posted on my previous blog. If you're still interested in following me, I've set up shop here:

Hopefully it is just the TOM and it all falls off again. Are you swimming?? I realized I haven't read anything about that lately.
ReplyDeleteTOM will do evil things to my scale, I have learned to stay far away from it around that time. I love your attitude, no since getting down on the number on the scale. Just do your best this week and see what next week says.
ReplyDeleteI'm just like you, I can't do my dvd's with hubby in the house. Not that he teases me or anything but it's too distracting.
I still pee like a racehorse during the night even if I stick to drinking my water during the day! It is the cold. It does not help.
ReplyDeleteI am on for a gain too. We just have to suck it up and move forward girly.
wow at the water weight.
The good thing about water gain is that if you really have been moderate with everything else, it all flushes out when it's good and ready. Isn't that always a happy day weigh-in?
