Flipping the bird

Had a good but uneventful night last night. Danielle and I went to Su's again. We are getting to be regulars! LOL! Came home and watched my usual shows on Thursday nights. Note to self: You can't sit next to a bowl of candy and not eat it. I bought a combination bag of Hershey's candies for a cute easter bowl I made and I thought I could resist them but apparently not. One after the other, after the other. Grrr...

Oh I have to share this: Yesterday I stopped on my lunch to get a pack of cigs and I got carded! (Save the lecture for later...)You only have to be 18 to buy smokes but I imagine the staff is trained to ask anyone who looks under say 25 or 35 but I will take it. Being 43 years old and being carded isn't a bad thing.

I am having my Ganglion cyst removed today at 4:45 p.m. and I am a little nervous. When I did my research originally, I thought it would be drained and I would be done with it. Well... I learned that it needs to be cut out so I will have to go to the Plastic Surgery dept. I am sure it will be fine but I am agonizing about it. At least my finger won't look so gross or hurt anymore when all this is done with. I will be flipping everyone the bird for a few days though! LOL!

Sample of what it looks like. Mine is bigger then this one

Gonna lay low this weekend. I would really like to see How to Train Your Dragon but not sure Dave will go for it since it is the 1st weekend. Should go to the gym but I will see how the finger is. The least I could do is walk around my neighborhood or do a DVD. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and wish me luck with my finger, k? Until next time...

  1. Congrats on getting carded!!! I know when I get beer and they ask me it makes me feel great! No asking now that I am in Germany though.

Good luck on the finger. Have a great weekend!

  5. Good luck, Katie - I'll be thinking of you at 6:45 today (you know, time difference and all).

Cool that you got carded...I won't even get into the cigarette lecture for now, since you're having surgery and all.

Hope you have a restful, pain-free weekend!

  7. You Smoke? I never would have thought that-you want your lecture now or later???? Too late I decide now-you should try to quit while losing the weight so that you don't get to goal and think-well now I don't want to gain from quitting-

  9. I had one of them removed years ago. It was mostly a non-event. Good luck with it! And congratulations being carded!

  10. Awww, you will be just fine with your finger. Honestly, it's not that big a deal, and they heal up fast. I've had two removed, and have 8 more to go! You will be glad you did it!

  15. Good luck with your surgery. I had the exact same looking little cyst (looked almost like a blister but was hard, like a BB was under the skin) on one of my toes. Took 3 surgeries to remove it for good. Hopefully they will get to the root so you won't have to have it repeated. It really wasn't a bad thing but for me I had to have sedation. Something about needles going into my toes...just more than I could bear! My last surgery was with a plastic surgeon and not a podiatrist. That was the time it worked and it hasn't made a reappearance! It will go well!

  16. Yup with the candies!! I bought a box of chocolate covered cherries (sooooooooooo gooood) and after each one I kept saying "just one more" "just one more" until they were ALL GONE!!lol! Now if I did that all the time I'd be in deep doodoo :)

Hope all went well w/your surgery.

  17. No lectures from me because that would be calling the kettle black! ;-) I got carded not too long ago (it IS so cool, I'm 44!) and instead of showing her my license, I pulled my hair back and showed her the gray growth. She started laughing. Good thing I had an inch of undyed hair there!

I had a ganglion cyst on my wrist years ago. At the time we were hanging out all the time with DS's cousins, an anestheologist and opthalmologist. They *both* told me to take a book and whack it hard to get it to burst. Hell no! It finally went away on its own. I hope your procedure goes well. I'd get a thrill out of giving everyone the finger for awhile. lol It doesn't take much to amuse me, though.
