It's Magic!

Yesterday afternoon I bid on and won a Magic Bullet on eBay. I have heard nothing but rave reviews about it so I thought I would get one. I have been using the regular blender to make our protein shakes but I don't like having the blender on the counter 24/7 so I think this will be a nice solution. They retail for $99 + $34.99 shipping and handling through their website but I got mine for $51 + $15.99 shipping and handling so basically 1/2 off. It will be here in a week or so. If you have one, how do you like it? Pros? Cons?

I bailed out on Grace last night. I am a LOSER. It was my own fault but I did not plan well yesterday and did not have a proper lunch. I had snacky type stuff but nothing sustaining so by the time I got home my blood sugar was way low so I called and cancelled. I feel like a shmuck but onward and upward.

We did go on our walk this morning! We haven't been very consistent about our morning walks but we are still getting up at 6:00 a.m. every morning. I may need to get up just a little earlier because it takes me about 15 mins to wake up and get dressed to get going. If we could leave at 6:00 a.m. or a few minutes after and walked for a 1/2 hour that would be good. I could come back and jump in the shower and get ready for work. I am not particularly a morning person but I really want to make this a habit so I will make whatever adjustments are needed to make it happen.

Tonight we are going to Round Table and meeting up with all of Dave's immediate family. It is his mother's first birthday after her passing last summer. Dave is actually the patriarch of the family now. Whoa! It will be good to see everyone. Hopefully, I can get some pictures. Speaking of pictures, Dave is not a fan of getting his picture taken. His justification for a while was his smile. He has had it fixed so I am not sure now why he still has an issue. He is about 20 lbs. overweight so maybe that is it. I barely have any pictures of us together. Part of that was on me but now that I am not horrified by seeing myself in a picture I am hoping he will be willing to have some taken of us. His friend just got a brand new camera so I am sure he would be happy to take some of us. He is a good looking man IMHO and I talk about him all the time here so it would be nice for you guys to see him right?

Tomorrow my mom and I are going to her friends 90th Birthday party! It is at a restaurant in Sunnyvale called Tarragon. I have been there before for company parties and the like. Should be fun. Not sure what the food situation will be but I will make good choices. I am on a roll again and I want to keep the momentum going so I can reach my next goal. Well that is about it. Hope you have a wonderful weekend and have some fun. Until next time...

  2. I wanted a Magic Bullet but ended up with a free knock off from my bank (hey, it's better than a toaster!). I do like it - bet you will like yours, too. Plus the smaller size keeps me from making mega-sized smoothies like I am wont to do in the blender.

I have a hard time getting up at the crack of dawn on Sundays to go running. It's pure will to get out of bed, get my running gear on, brush my teeth and jam a hat on my head...and then I get a cup of coffee and wait for inspiration or the caffeine to hit - usually takes about 15 minutes. I'm always glad I went, and I know you are, too - it's just the getting going that's hard!

Hope you get a good picture of you and Dave together - we do want to see him! And mmm, Round Table - I used to love that place! Enjoy!

  3. I have one of those and have had it about 6 years.

I LOVE IT!!! I make a shake for the kid allergic to blueberries ( we call yogourt or soymilk smoothies shakes because of frozen fruits)

One wants apples one doesnt etc...

I used it for my home daycare kids for shakes too!
    we made many fruit shakes!!!!
It blends frozen fruits in really easily and well :)

  4. I desperately want a magic bullet. And I want to respond to your comment on my blog, but there's no email attached to your account. Will you send me a quick email at fatassblogger@gmail.com?

  5. After years of getting up early I can tell you it's still hard sometimes. But, I know it's going to take me a few to wake up so I set the alarm for 4:00 (which allows for one hit of the snooze lol), get up, walk immediately to my spare room where I've already laid out my running clothes the night before. Get dressed. Walk downstairs, pour coffee. Take coffee sit on couch and watch 15-20 mins. of news/weather. Head out the door by 4:45 or 5:00 depending on if I hit that snooze or not. I've been doing this for 13 years now and it has become a habit most of the time.

My sister-in-law has the Magic Bullet and loves hers.

Yes, I do want to see a pic of you & Dave!

  11. Pics of the two of you would be great. I know I have tons of my kids but only a few of my husband and myself. My fault there, dont like having my picture taken (YET! lol). I have a Magic Bullet and mostly only use it for smoothies but its great for mincing and chopping up nuts, etc as well. You will have to let us know what you prepare with yours.......mine doesnt get used very often!
Have a great weekend Ms Katie~

  18. Reviews on the magic bullet!!!

I love mine!! I really do.. however I am not sure why I don't use mine more often. We are in the process of moving, so I think once we get settled, it will be used a lot more!
I have some friends that love theirs.. they like making the fruity frozen drinks for the summer!!!
All in all, with all of the attachments, you need to find space for them.. but it really is an amazing find!!!

I love waking up early and getting it over with! It's the best thing I do for myself.

I can understand Dave's smile. My teeth are really bad. I really don't like to smile big. Hope you can get some good pics too.

You're looking very skinny in your new profile pic. Good for you. Have a good weekend.

  21. I want one! To bad the outlets here don't mix with the outlets in the states. I hate that there is so much I am missing out on bc of that. I hope you have a great weekend and good luck on getting pictures.

  22. I've bought so many gadgets and never end up using them! If I bought a magic bullet it would most likely sit at the back of a kitchen cupboard and I'd still use a knife to chop everything! ;o)

Have fun at the 90th! :o)

  23. I love using the Magic Bullet for making Green Monster Smoothies (spinach and fruit) but have never had any luck trying to make things like salsa, no matter what blade I use it comes out mushy.

  24. OMG! I just bought one at Costco today. ;-) They had a coupon, so I got it for a really good price.
