Muggy Monday

Hope you all had a nice weekend. Mine was good but it was hot and humid so it was a bit of an adjustment. We have had unseasonably cool weather up to this point so basically we went from upper 60s and low 70s to upper 80s and low 90s in two days. We don't have A/C so we make do with fans. I don't know how you all handle humidity on a regular basis. I think I would melt!

Saturday I went to brunch with my mom, Aunt and cousin. We had a nice time. Scott is a nice young man and we only get to see him like once or twice a year and it is always a pleasure to see him. After brunch my mom and I went to the Tiffany & Co. store. I had a necklace to pick up from being repaired. I have been wishing for this necklace and Dave and Danielle bought it for me for my birthday which is June 21st. I big puffy heart little blue boxes. Pun intended! LOL!

Speaking of... I planned a giveaway so I can give one of YOU a present for my birthday. Stay tuned for that.

Sunday I got up early and went to church. It had been a couple of months since I had gone. The church secretary said "Look there's Katie!" and the pastor said "Katie!" really loud and hugged me in the reception line. Made me cry actually... I am such a sappy gal. Spent some time chatting with Deb and then went home for the rest of the afternoon. I dinked around mostly and I also made some homemade potato salad. I had told Deb that I was going to stop at the grocery store and go to the deli and she said "You like their salads?" and I told her "Meh... they are okay" She suggested that I make homemade so I did and it came out dynamite. Dave loved it. Since it was so hot, I decided to go to bed early and was up at 5:00 a.m. this morning. Dave did 4 games yesterday so his legs were too sore to walk this morning so we will try again tomorrow.

Hoping to go to Costco tonight. I need to take my picture for the Membership Card since this will be the first time using it. I want a Chicken Bake for dinner but I need to look up the caloric content. I may split it with Dave or bring it home depending. Until next time...

  1. I have been debating myself about dinner. Potato salad or mixed veggies... I guess I'm going for potatoes!! :) Nice necklace. I always liked little heart necklaces never got one... May be I'll reward myself with one at some point :D

  2. I made my homemade potato salad yesterday too. We're having it tonight with a new chicken burger recipe I've been dying to try.

People who have regular humidity, also have regular air conditioning lol!

Our weekend was also muggy muggy muggy but I'd rather have that freezing cold any day.

  3. We handle the humidity with A/C - there would be misery without it around here! Growing up in Santa Clara, we didn't have A/C in the house - didn't even get ceiling fans until I was a teenager...there were some hot days, but not like Texas. I think we used to hang out at the mall or the movies when it got really hot.

Love the necklace (as I told you over the weekend, lol) - can you believe I've never gotten anything from Tiffany's? One of these days...:)

Your birthday is the same as Jeff's - I will be sure to remember it!

  6. It sounds like you had a nice weekend! I LOVE the necklace - congrats, you are worth it. :)

Homemade potato salad sounds delicious. It's hit or miss if I like the ones in the store.

I am a fan of heat but not humidity. We have had some super humid days these last weeks but now it's a bit chilly and rainy.

    Have a great evening Katie!

  7. I've been reading your blog for awhile and just stopping by to say hello. The homemade salads are a great idea. Love the necklace. It's one of my favorites and I gave one to my goddaughter for her graduation. I so enjoy seeing her wear it.
