Thank you guys for all the feedback and encouragement. It really helps me and I can't express in words how grateful I am that you take the time to comment.
Last night turned out to be a pretty good night for on the communication front. Dave and I talked some and we will talk again this weekend. He was asked to umpire in Monterey for the next two days so he will be taking off at noon time today and back on Friday. I think the timing is perfect. It will give him some time to think and come up with a plan and will give me a little space which I could use right now.
I also had a frank conversation with my mom and her situation. I told her I was concerned and she acknowledged the points I made. It was a relief to be able to say those things to her. It has has been heartbreaking to watch her struggle but she is one tough cookie so I have faith that she will make it through this rough patch too.
Eating was spotty but better. Activity was pretty non-existent. Tonight I am going to get my hair cut. Yipee! I am so excited. It has been over 2 months and that is a long time for me. I was growing out some of the mistakes the prior hairdresser caused so I am anxious for a new do. Luc is such a cool cat. It is rather painful to pay $70 for a haircut especially when it short like mine but I think it is worth it. What do you guys usually pay for a haircut? Until next time...
Hi Katie!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad things are looking up for you today:)
Your blog is awesome and you definitely inspire me to deal with my daily struggles. Keep up the good work!
Just wanted to let you know I nominated you for the versatile blog award since I love your blog:)

have a great rest of the week!
For years, I paid not a lot with my longime (22 years) hairdresser. She retired (sniff, sniff) and I went to a gal who charged $30. affordable! She was great, but it was a long drive (nearly an hour each way). I found one down the street. $50 bucks.
ReplyDeleteMy hair is long and curly and has to be layered. I only get it cut every 2 to 3 months--and I can go 4 months if I'm lazy, cause curly hair shrinks when it dries, so I can wait a long time. It's a bargain to me to get it cut RIGHT. Curly hair is not easy to deal with (I wear it naturallly curly). Color is necessary with my grey now, and that's pricier and I do it every 3 months or so. Again, could go 4 months if I don't mind looking grey-flecked a spell. Since my hair is nearly black (naturally), the grey really stands out....so I do color. :)
I think $70 would seem pricey to me unless hair is long and more complex to cut. For your short hair...seems like a lot.
Glad things are looking a bit brighter today Katie. Sending an electronic hug your way!!!
ReplyDeleteI pay around $80-90 for a cut and color (and I have medium long hair!
ReplyDeletei am glad things are looking up for you! ugh i hate to admit it but i pay between 60-100 bucks for my haircut. i used to pay 30, but my stylist moved to a much higher end salon and i followed her. it just depends on what i get done. but i only get my hair cut every 4-6 months, so I just save money here and there so it's not a burden.
ReplyDeleteGlad things are feeling clearer. I too have long curly hair and after years of hairdressers really not getting it, I learnt how to cut it myself so I pay zero! I cut every other month or so, just when it starts feel straggly and I colour at home monthly I guess, which costs about £5 ;o)
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm a total cheapskate but I can honestly say my hair has never looked better since I took control of the scissors! xx
Sounds like you had a good day yesterday - yay!
ReplyDeleteI'm getting my hair highlighted and cut tomorrow - it's been 4 months and I'm past due. I think I pay around $70 for everything - but remember, I'm in Texas. Things are cheaper here. :)
Yay! Upbeat is the way to go! I don't pay anything for haircuts because I don't get my hair cut. If I need something done, I get one of the lovelies to do it. Around here, there are people who pay over $150 for color and that does not include a cut and style. Ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteI just want to say that when you find a stylist that you like...and that listens to you...that is priceless!!! I pay a lot for my hair...but it's a luxury that I afford myself. I have tried skimping in the past...and have never "loved" my 'do (and color, well, that's just another whole story entirely!). So, while I know that I overpay for my beauty regimen...it's totally worth every single cent! (Just know, I pay a lot for a cut...about $70...and color is about double that...so when I get both done, it's well over $200...yes, a shock to the wallet....and thus the reason my hair is growing!!! LOL!).
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your evening....you so deserve it!!!
That's so good that you were able to talk to the important people in your life about what's bothering you. It sounds like you are feeling better. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteI'm so lucky my brother is a stylist and kick ass colorist so I only have to pay for the cost of the color and tip the shampoo girl for a cut and color that would cost over $150. I usually bring him a bottle of vodka or flowers considering the money I save.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy your quiet time. Have a great weekend.
