Are You Lucky? (Giveaway)

Had a nice dinner last night. I bbq'd steak and had wild rice and broccoli. The rest of the evening I hung clothes and put more stuff away. I have made major headway! It feels so nice to get organized again. I am trying to establish my new routine.

In the process of cleaning I realized that I had just bought a book that I already had a digital copy of so I decided to do a giveaway! It's called The Lucky One''''by Nicholas Sparks. Here is the description:

When U.S. Marine Logan Thibault finds a photograph of a smiling young woman half-buried in the dirt during his third tour of duty in Iraq, his first instinct is to toss it aside. Instead, he brings it back to the base for someone to claim, but when no one does, he finds himself always carrying the photo in his pocket. Soon Thibault experiences a sudden streak of luck—winning poker games and even surviving deadly combat that kills two of his closest buddies. Only his best friend, Victor, seems to have an explanation for his good fortune: the photograph—his lucky charm.

Back home in Colorado, Thibault can’t seem to get the photo—and the woman in it—out of his mind. Believing that she somehow holds the key to his destiny, he sets out on a journey across the country to find her, never expecting the strong but vulnerable woman he encounters in Hampton, North Carolina—Elizabeth, a divorced mother with a young son—to be the girl he’s been waiting his whole life to meet. Caught off guard by the attraction he feels, Thibault keeps the story of the photo, and his luck, a secret. As he and Elizabeth embark upon a passionate and all-consuming love affair, the secret he is keeping will soon threaten to tear them apart—destroying not only their love, but also their lives. Filled with tender romance and terrific suspense, The Lucky One is Nicholas Sparks at his best—an unforgettable story about the surprising paths our lives often take and the power of fate to guide us to true and everlasting love. The movie for this book is actually in production now. The book is a paperback.

All you have to do to enter is tell me why you feel lucky? For an additional entry you can post about the giveaway on Facebook or Twitter. I will announce the winner on Monday, August 9th so the last entry I will accept is August 8th by midnight. Good luck to you!

I may be getting together with my neice Candace tonight. She is leaving for the weekend to celebrate her 25th birthday (oh to be 25!) so I am not sure if she will have time but hopefully we can hook up. Until next time...

What an interesting book and yea, I immediately thought the story would make a good movie. Sounds like a great read.

Let's see, why do I feel lucky? Well, I had 3 kids and was divorced all before the age of 25. I've managed to raise 3 productive kids who are happy, productive and healthy. I've struggled but have always had God on my side. Even in hard times, there's a lesson to be learned. If I look around, there is always someone who is having a more difficult time for me so it helps to keep things in perspective.

The Lord is my lucky charm.

  5. I have read many of his books and have enjoyed them! I haven't read this one yet though. I don't necessarily believe in luck but I feel very fortunate for a great family and friends who share the same values as I do!! Things have been going very well and I feel very fortunate in times where many are suffering! Thanks for a great giveaway!

  7. I'm lucky because my fiance respects and loves me for who I am, and even though I'm not 100% happy with myself, he doesn't want me to change. And that type of backing is more than anyone can ask for. :)

  12. I had the most amazing good luck earlier this summer...a nasty large tumor turned out to be benign and NOT cancer! The odds and genetics were stacked against me, so I really feel like I got away with something big!

I love Nicholas Sparks' work. Thank you so very much for sharing your abundance!
