Bye Bye April

Good stats for yesterday. I didn't eat much in the morning so the calories were low. I was still sore yesterday but seem to be fine today. I am glad that April is over - April has been a hard month for the last 10 years and I look forward to May with anticipation. Until next time...

Gray Monday

Not much activity but adjusted with calories. It is gray outside so it is a little hard to motivate today... Happy Monday! Until next time....

Sunday and Stuff

What a day Saturday was! My legs were sore this morning let me tell you. Once I started moving around they loosened up a bit. I took it pretty easy today though and spent the afternoon in Debby and Larry's backyard. It was in the 70s and breezy but nice. Here I am with my pink hat that I got at the Flea Market yesterday :-)

I am in the process of breaking off a relationship which I know it isn't going to be easy. I have been living with the BF for the past three years. In a nutshell: He has a drinking problem and won't seek the proper help. I have tried to help him but he lies to me about his drinking. He does help with cooking and cleaning but does not pay anything towards the rent which is $1,000 for a Studio apartment. It has been a long time coming but I can't continue our relationship any longer. I am making big changes in my life and he is stagnating. He is 15 years older then me and won't change his ways and although he loves me dearly and I love him it isn't enough anymore. I need to care of me first. Until next time

Cable and the Flea Market

I have had problems with my cable Internet so I haven't been able to upload since Friday! I was able to get on this morning quickly before I leave for church and I just had to share. I walked 4 miles yesterday at the Flea Market! I broke 10,000 steps! I had to stop about once an hour or so for a few minutes but that was it... Will post more later...

TGIF

Well I did a Walking Workout DVD from Prevention Magazine instead of the BL DVD. I did it for about 15 mins because that is all I could handle! That is quite a workout! I did weigh myself this a.m. and I am the same. I am not surprised. Low activity this week with the blasted heat and also retaining water. I got out of sync on some of my meds and so I am extra bloated. I am going to Zumba! tomorrow and looking forward to it. It is going to take me a little while to get those steps down but at least now I know what to expect. Nicole is loaning me her DVDs of the workouts so I can practice at home. BTW, it is 33 degrees cooler today then Monday AND it is sprinkling! Wacky!!! Until next time...

Thursday and Bugg'd

Here is yesterday's stats. Look at that sad, flat line. I think there was a few more calories burned but since I didn't have it on I don't really know. I came home from work, got online and plugged it in. I am going to do the Biggest Loser workout DVD so I am looking forward to seeing those spikes. I am glad it this week is almost over. BTW today it was 70 degrees and it is going to get lower over the weekend.. from upper 90s to low 60s in one week is freaky! It actually broke quite a few records in the area! Until next time...

Still Naked...

I forgot my Bodybugg again!! I couldn't get online (Darn Comcast!!) so I wasn't able to enter my food. I have been watching food intake so I should be okay but will have to wait until tonight or tomorrow a.m. I have decided to move weigh day to Friday. Until next time...

I feel Naked!

Good day overall. Today is not going to be as hot so I am happy about that! I forgot my Bodybugg at home for the 1st time in almost 5 months! I feel so naked!!! I almost want to run home and get it but I probably won't... I will just wait until 5:00 p.m. No Fish Market tonight since Mom is in Las Vegas. Hopefully I can drink LOTS of water today. Until next time...

Another Scorcher!

Mondays are so blah... I didn't do anything yesterday... just tried to stay cool. It is going to be in the 90s again today. I am going to get a pedicure tonight - Yea for Happy toes! Should get in more activity today. It is not as hectic at work this week but I still have quite a few appts. so that helps me keep moving around. Until next time...

Hot!

It was 94 degrees yesterday and it is supposed to be 99 degrees today! It is unusual for it to be that hot this time of year. In fact, they said it was going to cool off and will be in the 70s later this week... It made for a fairly lazy day yesterday. I was doing projects most of the day so that is good. I am eternally trying to be more organized! Until next time

Vino

Well I didn't go to Santa Cruz. I ended up going to Danielle's for dinner. We had Porterhouse steak with Artichokes and garlic bread. It was sooo yummy!! I don't eat much red meat anymore but I do crave a good steak now then. I was conscious of my portion size but we had a wonderful Merlot called 14 Hands from Washington and we ended up drinking the bottle which was 3 - 4 oz. glasses each so hence the small deficit. I don't drink much anymore (but I miss my Corona!) so it is a treat I will allow myself in moderation on occasion. Until next time...

Zumba! and Santa Cruz

So I went to the Zumba! class and WOW it was fun!! It was fast foot work and A LOT of booty shaking! I kept up the best I could and the BB registered 47 mins. of activity... It was cool to see the spikes!! It is sunny and 75 degrees out and I am thinking about going to beach in Santa Cruz.
Santa Cruz, California, is situated on the northern part of Monterey Bay about 74 miles south of San Francisco and 30 miles from San Jose. Santa. About 10% of the land area of the county is devoted to State Parks, several of which are within or adjacent to the City limits. Santa Cruz is the quintessential beach town. It was here that Hawaiian royalty first introduced surfing to the mainland--and locals and visitors alike have been riding the waves ever since. Not far from the surf break, calliope music and laughter fills the air at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, the West Coast's last remaining seaside amusement park. A few blocks from the beach is Santa Cruz's newly renovated downtown. The pedestrian-friendly, tree-lined streets are filled with vibrant shops and galleries, outdoor bistros and sidewalk musicians - all in keeping with Surf City's offbeat personality.

Zumba!

Well I was planning on going to the gym tomorrow and I looked at the schedule at my local 24hr Fitness and they have a 10:00 Zumba class. I have heard of Zumba but have never taken one of their classes. I love to dance and years ago I took a Salsa class at the same gym which I loved so I think it will be fun. It may become my Saturday morning ritual :-) Until next time...

Lifestyle

Not a bad day yesterday... Although I did not plan well and ended up at Taco Bell for dinner. I ordered a Chicken Fresco Burrito. They are 330 calories and 8 grams of fat. It is not the perfect dinner but it got me to thinking... I am not on a diet. This is a new way of life for me. In the past, I wouldn't even have thought for a second what the fat or calorie content was so the mere fact that I am now makes me feel in control. Until next time...

Yipee!!

Well I am down 2 lbs this week! Yipee!! I am happy to be back on track! That means I have lost 26 lbs. since I started! As Mike said the other day, it is a Smilestone for me! Lord knows I have so much more to do but this is super encouraging. I MUST up my activities and start doing some weight training. Until next time...

Feeling groovy!

Good numbers yesterday - 112% for Calories burned is not too shabby! It sure helps to move around during BL commercials! I am feeling in the groove and I like it! I am making some other lifestyle changes as well and things are shaping up which is great. It is another slammin day at the office and going to dinner with my mom. Until next time...

Biggest Loser and American Idol

I am watching Biggest Loser and American Idol. There is one contestant on American Idol that I like. His name is Danny Gokey otherwise I am mostly watching BL. I am super excited to see their makeovers!! I am trying to dance during commercials to burn some calories. Until next time...

Busy!

It was a busy day yesterday! I work for a Private school and we are hiring for the next school year. We had a job fair last week and had over 150 applicants! It is part of my job to administer testing to the applicants. I have had 8-10 appointments. per day and will for the next two weeks. It means a lot of running around and A LOT of talking. It certainly helps with the step quota and it makes the day go by fast. Until next time...

Surviving

Hope you had a nice Easter. First of all, I ordered a new USB cord so no 3 day screenshot posts! It will be better to have one at work and one at home plus as Crystal said it can be used with other items. Friday was good. Not a 4 digit deficit but acceptable. Saturday was about the same. Then there was Sunday... I guess I should be happy that I had a deficit at all BUT that is pretty sad. I think I made a big mistake by not eating lunch or snacks. I knew I would have a high calorie dinner so I wanted to budget accordingly. I ended up being super hungry by dinner time and into the evening. I was able to avoid desert and candy so that was a positive. I had a deficit so that is a positive. A lesson learned so that is a positive. In the past, I would eat with disregard on holidays so I think this is a big step in the right direction.
Until next time...

Focused but Emotional

Well like a dork, I left my USB cord on the counter at work. I even set a reminder in Outlook but no... anyways... I did well yesterday. I made my step target 6000 and now it seems pretty achievable. I do like seeing the messages on the watch when I reach my goals. I call it my micro cheerleader. I must confess that I snuck a peek at the scale and I am down 25 lbs. I am feeling focused but I have also been emotional because...

Tomorrow is the 10th anniversary of my father's death and of course Easter. It was a Tuesday night at 8:32 p.m when he died He was scheduled for heart surgery and died the night before! He was an otherwise healthy man. He did not smoke, drink or even drink coffee. He ate healthy and was not overweight. However, there was heart disease in his family. My father, Edward, aka "Eagle" was born in 193o in Chicago, IL. He met my mom in high school but they actually dated other people at that time. He was a jock and she was a cheerleader. He played minor league baseball after high school but he got drafted to Korea at 19. He was shot in the war and became a paraplegic due to a spinal cord injury. After he came home from the war he and my mom got close and they fell in love and married. They were not able to have children so they adopted my brother and I. He is 5 years older then me. They moved to California and adopted me. He became involved in a National organization called P.V.A. and he was also on committees for the V.A. which helped with accessibility and funding for spinal cord injury research. He even attended a number of Presidential Inauguration's. He had a wonderful life albeit his disability. He was a proud man and always had a smile on his face. He and my mom traveled all over the U.S. He took my mom to Maui every summer and they were married 43 years when he died in '99. He made his mark on this world and it was his time to go. I came to peace with his death through my faith and knowing that God had a purpose in taking him when he did. He loved me like no one else and I miss him dearly. I love you daddy! Happy Easter!

Another busy day!

I did super yesterday! It is so encouraging to see those numbers again. I must get better about drinking water though. I want to try putting cucumbers, orange, lemon or lime slices. I do like the Crystal Light and Ocean Spray flavorings but they are a little acidic for me. I am allergic to citric acid so they give me sores on my tongue if I drink to many. Any other suggestions? Until next time and I WILL bring my cords home so I can upload over the weekend. Until next time.

Chaotic

It was so chaotic yesterday at work! I did really well though. I think that is the highest caloric burn to date. I met my step target of 6,000 as well. I did great on food and that is including the cake. I had a tiny little piece but at least I got the flavor of it AND I only had two bread sticks. I just made sure I loaded up my plate with salad.

This morning was weigh day. I have been wavering with a few lbs. up and down in the last two weeks due to the cellulitis. So technically, I am now up 1.2 lbs. I am down 23.8 lbs total. I am okay with this and will not let it discourage me. My activity is increasing and that is a big achievement. I will forge ahead and keep focused on my goal of 40 lbs. by cruise time. It is 15 weeks and 16.8 lbs. Totally achievable! By the way, we are having another meeting today with 6 extra large pizzas! There is a veggie one so I think I will do one slice and salad from yesterday for lunch. There is left over cake but I am not going to have any. Until next time...

I love Salmon!

I did okay yesterday. It was a real emotional day but I managed to get through it (Thanks, Nicole) I had Salmon for dinner which I love. My friend Debby, who I think is the best cook on the planet says she loves my Salmon which is a HUGE compliment. All I do is sprinkle a little parsley, squeeze a little lemon and some seasoning and voila!

Today we are having a meeting at work and we are catering a lunch. It is pasta and salad with bread sticks. There is also going to be cake. I plan on a having some of each but will practice self control and have a big salad! The challenge will be the bread sticks though, they are phenom! Until next time

Hummin Along...

Not bad for a Monday. I was a little below my target for the activity level but it was okay because of the lower calories consumed. I am starting to read the Biggest Loser Fitness Program book. Have any of you read it?

I did read the BL Success Stories book and found it motivating so I figured this would be a good read. I also have the BL Cookbook but I haven't used any of the recipies yet. By the way, I decided not to weigh myself until Thursday. I have been waivering and would like to see a good number so I will do it on the 9th. Until next time...

Moving along

Here are Saturday and Sundays screen shots. I did better this weekend then I think I have since I started. I was more active and watched what I ate. I did eat pizza last night but it was Veggie so it did not sabatoge the numbers too badly.

When I was at Debby's yesterday and she had some snacks in a bowl and I asked her what it was and she told me it was Dry Roasted Edamame. Well I love Edamame in its raw form but I had NEVER seen it dry roasted. They were super yummy!!! They are a healthy snack for when you are craving salty stuff. (see details below)

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Well the Bodybugg site is back up but I forgot to bring home my USB cord again so I can't upload my screenshots. I wonder what updates they did because I don't see any significant changes. It did seem to load a little quicker but the grumpy dude is still there!

I have been doing well on food and activities. I went on a short walk with my friend Deb. We just went around her block which is probably like a quarter mile. In the past when we would walk, I would have to stop a few times (Debby said 6 times!) and this time I made it without stopping and at a fairly brisk pace. It felt great! Plus when I was leaving her house she commented on my butt and said it looked smaller! Yeah! Hopefully I will get another walk in before the day is over. Until next time...

Saturday, April 4, 2009

Saturday continued...

This is Saturday night's dinner. Rock Cornish Game Hen, Broccoli and Shells. I like using a smaller plate so I feel like I am eating more. The serving for the pasta was a cup but that was way too much. I got 2 miles in today so I am super happy about that. The weather was AWESOME today (about 70 degrees) and it felt great to be out there. Until next time...

Cruzin

I am getting ready to go on a bike ride. I will probably go a mile or two depending... I read a good article on avoiding boredom with workouts that I thought I would share...

Avoiding Boredom by Ian Newby Clark

Hope you have a nice weekend and I will have posts on Monday for the weekend since Apex is updating the BB site.

Mood and Meds

Four digit deficit again. I have been taking antibiotics and they make me nauseous and so I am not hungry. I was emotionally and physically exhausted yesterday and fell asleep a little after 8:00 p.m. hence no evening peaks. Looking forward to a nice weekend. I want to get out on my bike and work on my closet AGAIN.

Thursday, April 2, 2009

Half and Half

Yesterday was a good day. I just love 4 digit deficits! I did a lot of walking around the office but nothing formal. I did well on food too. I had Mahi Mahi for dinner at Fish Market and a 1/2 of an Almond Joy for desert. I am also down 1/2 lb. this week. I knew it would be low but I am almost fully healed and should be ready to go. It should be a beautiful weekend so I can get out there and get moving!

Virtual Model

So this is what the virtual model looks like. Nicole and I both tried to put our pictures in the simulator and it looked really odd. In any case, I thought it was helpful still to give me an idea what I will look like closer to my goal. Until next time...

On the mend

Well my leg is looking a lot better and not hurting as much today. Yeah! It is Wednesday which is my standing Dinner with my mom. We usually go to this restaurant called the Fish Market which is close to her house. It is a great place and they make it easy to make smart choices. I would have done better yesterday but the boyfriend brought over Chocalate cupcakes. I could not resist. They are evil! I tried to walk around the house while watching BL to burn off some of it but they are so not worth it! I did sneak a peek at the scale this morning and I am the same which is okay. I wasn't expecting a loss this week but I do have until tomorrow. Until next time...

Weird Monday

Yesterday was a weird day... but I did ok. I wasn't really hungry so hence the low calories consumed. I work at a private school (Regional office) and two of our students were murdered Sunday night. They were 4 and 10 years old. The media was calling trying to get their names and it was just creepy. It affected my appetite for sure. Riding the bike for a few minutes must have helped calories burned. Hoping to get some bike riding in tonight... thank goodness it is lighter later! Until next time...

Ready! Set! Go!

I am feeling motivated because my friend Tony helped me put air in my bicycle tires. It is clean and ready to go! Mine has a white basket and a pink flower bell. It is ultra girlie and I love it because it's Pink! I live in a older neighborhood with beautiful Victorian homes so it is a great area to ride it. There is also a park down the street to ride around. Looking forward to getting out there and cruise...until next time...
Pink is not just a color it's an attitude!!!

Simply Fabulous

Leah is having a contest on her blog. Check it out if you can! It ends on April 3rd so don't delay!http://simplyfabulousnow.wordpress.com/2009/03/29/fit-from-within/

Well Rested

Sunday was a better day then Saturday. I actually went to breakfast with my mom and then visited with my best friends Debby and Larry for awhile. It was a lovely day. It was a little windy but basically 68-70 degrees. I didn't get in any exercise due to the blasted cellulitis but I did well on food. I didn't have any lunch so that is why the calories were lower. I went to bed about 10:30 p.m. and slept until 6:30 a.m. this morning. I didn't wake up at all during the night so I feel very well rested today. I never realized how much sleep I was missing out on and how much better things seem when you get proper rest. I am not expecting a loss this week but will be sticking to the eating plan as much as possible. Until next time...

Weight Loss Simulator

www.prevention.com/mvm

This link is for a weight loss simulator that you can upload your picture to and it will show you in 3-D what you will look like now and at your goal weight. I used their model and input my height, weight and body type and it was pretty cool! I am looking forward to putting my picture in. I need to do some better before pictures. I had someone take the ones I have posted with my cell phone. Until next time...

Cranky

I am in pain and I'm cranky. My leg hurts like &^$#*!! Grrrrrrrrrrr. I had fun plans for the weekend and now I am stuck elevating. Hope it heals quickly. I left my USB cords at work so I can't update my Bodybugg either.

On the upside, I had ALL sorts of blood tests done on Thursday night and they came back with great results. My blood sugars are the best they have been in 5 years. I do attribute that to the weight loss. It is nice to see the actual effects on the numbers. My doctor did recommend that I take Niacin to help with Cholesterol.

Until next time...

Friday, March 27, 2009

Hmmm...

I was so glad to hear from Marrishka that the Fruit and Yogurt parfaits from McDonald's are only 130 calories and 160 with the granola!! I really like them as dessert and they feel like a treat. According the Bodybugg it was 380 calories. I haven't been eating junk food so I haven't used their menu choices too often but now it makes me wonder what other ones are incorrect. Maybe I will email customer service so they could update this one at least. Hmmm... Until next time...

Good and Bad

I am having a good and bad day. The good part is that I am supposed to wear a uniform at work on Fridays. Until today I have not been able to because I could not fit into anything. Today is the first time I have been able to wear one of the shirts! A few people have commented on the fact that I had one on. I even got a YAY from Nicole! I felt bad every Friday because everyone else was wearing one EXCEPT for me. The bad news is I have Cellulitis from a bug bite on my left leg. I had to go to the doctor last night and get a shot in my arse as well as oral antibiotics. It hurts like hell. Hopefully the meds will kick in quick. Meanwhile I won’t be getting as many steps in.
Sidenote: Went to McDonald's last night and was SO tempted to have french fries but opted not to. I had a grilled chicken sandwich which was 400 calories. Then I got a yogurt and fruit parfait and it was 380! I would NEVER have thought it had that many calories. Sheesh! They are good but not worth that many calories..
Until next time...

Hooray for 2!

Hooray! I lost 2 lbs. this week! I am down 24 lbs total since January 5th! I am thrilled! I am going to get my hair cut so that will be a nice treat. I have to share... I did a silly quiz on Facebook that determines your "real" age and it came up with 36 for me (I am 42) Even though it was just a silly quiz it made me smile. People usually don't think I am my actual age. I don't know if it is the round face or that I actually look younger then my age. It will be interesting to see as I drop more weight what it does to my appearance.

Until next time...

Control and Inches

I did well until I got home. Was bored and ended up eating a Drumstick Ice Cream. It had 17 grams of fat! Yuck! One thing I have been doing well with is not weighing myself daily. I put the scale in the closet and I haven't pulled it out at all. I was tempted this morning but talked myself out of it. I measured myself and my total inches lost is 8.5" My thighs are down 4" and my upper arms are down 2". I could tell my upper arms were smaller because I had to tighten the strap.

Until next time...

Intangibles

I didn’t do too badly yesterday. I watched what I ate so that helped keep a bigger deficit. Did not get any exercise in. I generally don’t do anything on Mondays.

There have already been some intangible benefits to my weight loss. I can move easier and faster. I had to get rid of some of my clothes because they are too BIG. I can wear clothes in my closet that I haven’t worn in months… it is the little things you don’t think about.

One thing that I have been thinking about it is riding on a plane. A year ago, I went with my mom to the Caribbean for Christmas. I had to get an extension for the seatbelt. It was horrible! I cried! I don’t ever want to do that again. I was aiming for a 40 lbs. loss by July for the Alaska cruise but now we are going to go to Colorado May 21st to see my nephews High School graduation. If I keep losing an average of 2 lbs per week I should have no problem reaching that goal for the May trip. That will be 20 weeks into the program. Right now it is week 12. I need to step it up!

Until next time…

Monday, March 23, 2009

Monday Monday Monday

Well I knew yesterday was going to be bad. Stayed in a deficit so I am happy about that. I am feeling low energy today so probably won't get much exercising in. I need to put air in my bike tires so maybe I can do that tonight so I will be good to go.

Who is this dude and why is he pointing his finger at me! I wonder why Apex switched the people in the software. Did they do any market research first? I would like to see the focus group who picked him! I don't like him. Give me Mr. Bodybugg back!

Until next time...

Red Red Wine

Yesterday I hung out with my friend Danielle and we cleaned out her garage. I knew I would do well on burning calories. Then we decided to open a bottle of wine... and then another... I have not drank that much in a LONG time! At least I had a decent deficit still. My main goal is NOT to be in a surplus. I am feeling crunchy so probably won't do much today.
Until next time...

Sleeping with the Bugg

Well last night was the first night I ever slept with the bugg on. I thought it would be annoying to have it on at night but it wasn't. Then I saw the results and I realized why people have been doing it. I don't know if it had a huge impact on the numbers but it did have points where I was burning more then others. Interesting experiment. I am crampy and lethargic today. I actually got a visit from Aunt Flo. Funny that I was just saying how long it had been and then here she comes. I knew I was feeling funky but I just couldn't put my finger on it. Hopefully today goes by fast and painlessly.
Until next time...

Little by Little

So I lost 1 lb. this week and I am pleased. It is coming off little by little. I am shooting for going to the gym tonight. I did drank 2 liters of water yesterday. That is a lot of water! I would like to do that every day but I think I will have to build up to it. I was amazed to learn through Mike's post that it weighs 8 lbs... that is amazing... but it is SO good for you.

Until next time...

Spring Cleaning

Had good numbers again yesterday which is encouraging. I did have some Corned Beef and cabbage. I asked for a deck of cards size portion from the server so I felt good about that. I didn't drink any green beer though. Speaking of beer... I miss it! I have not had a beer all year! I know how bad it is and will NOT drink one any time soon but I sure do miss it. I have been in Spring Cleaning mode the last week or so. I am purging stuff which makes me feel good and it burns more calories while I do it so it is a win-win. I toggled back and forth from BL to American Idol so I missed most of the 1st hour of BL but did catch the end to see that Kathy went home. I identify the most with her and Kristin. Kathy looks great! She said she is now addicted to exercising!! I love it!

Until next time...

Organizing

Well my numbers were good yesterday. Nice way to start the week! Instead of just sitting around in the evening I got up off my arse and was organizing things that I had taken out of the trunk of my car. (I was making room for my scale! Just kidding!) I worked on it until I went to bed around 10:30 p.m. Looking forward to BL tonight. The contestants are going home for a week so we will see how they do on their own. It is St. Patrick's Day, so I will eat some Corned Beef and Cabbage for dinner. Wonder what the calorie content is... I imagine there is a large amount of sodium in it so I will be sure to drink extra water.

Side note: Nicole is going to do Jenny Craig so she cleaned out her fridge/freezer and brought it ALL to me. It will really to have them handy when I don't want to cook or need something quickly.

Obsessive!

Well I did o.k. this weekend. Did not log food but did write it down in a notebook and then entered it this a.m. Seemed to work better then trying to do it from memory. I have been obsessively weighing myself and getting discouraged. I have been doing it every day even in the middle of the night! I don't know why I am obsessing about it. I guess I just want to see it go down in a hurry. All I know is that when I get home tonight I am going to put the scale in the closet and then just bring it out on Thursdays for weighing in. Out of sight - out of mind hopefully.

Until next time...

Random Post

I just had to post this! Nicole has been telling me to QUIT SMOKING. She said it affects your metabolism and I told her "No, it doesn't!" and got defensive...

So while taking a mental break at work, I decided to check out my horoscope: One of your friends has been giving you some really good advice regarding your health, and it's time to stop feeling so defensive about it. They want the best for you! So if they're suggesting that you go to the gym, eat healthier food or put a stop a bad habit, it's not because they want to tell you how to live your life. It's because they want you to live a long and capable life. Take that chip off your shoulder and take some of what they say to heart. I about fell off my chair when I read that.

Finally!!

I finally made it to the gym! I have not had that much of a deficit since I started. It is really exciting to see those kinds of numbers!! One thing that was a little odd this morning was when I logged in there is a new gal in a pink sweatshirt. Where is Mr. Bodybugg with his arms at his side and his stern glare? Maybe they are trying to be gender appropriate. Now, if I can keep on track this weekend. I seem to struggle more on the weekends with keeping food logged. Another retrain the brain thing. One person mentioned at least writing it on a notepad and enter it in later which I thought was a good idea.

Weigh Day

Well I stayed the same this week... Not thrilled but not unhappy about it. I got to thinking about hormones and their influence on my weight. I have an IUD (Mirena) and I don't get my period much anymore. I must say it is a nice benefit. Throughout the years I have had "issues" so not getting it is alright. I do believe that there are hormone fluctuations and get other symptoms like bloating, headache, crabbiness, etc. Just an observation. I used to get it around the 10th of the month so it would make sense... I should talk to my doctor and see what she says.

Someday I will get there

I did not go to the gym yesterday. I was prepared. I had planned on it. Then I chose not to go and went to my friends house instead. Wednesdays I can't go because I visit with my mom. We have a standing engagement. I will try again on Thursday. I will at least try to walk around the building this afternoon with my iPod. I didn't do horrible yesterday but I could have done better. I did move around during the commercials for BL so hence the spike around 9:00 p.m. This is my first screen shot so we shall see...

Being Prepared

Well I brought my gym clothes AND my iPod with me to work today. I am hoping to go to the gym after work. One thing that I have become increasingly aware of is being prepared is the key to healthy eating and exercising. Having health snacks available, having gym clothes ready to go, planning out meals for the day... it all boils down to being prepared. I need to retrain my brain to be prepared instead of sitting on my arse and watching t.v.

Attitude is Everything

I didn't do well this weekend. I didn't even wear my bugg yesterday. I just slept, watched t.v. and ate. I was feeling down (for a variety of reasons) plus the time change happened so it was easy to loaf around. I didn't do anything I had planned on doing like going to church, riding my bike, going to the gym... nothing. All because of my bad attitude. I should have just pushed through it. I told myself before I went to bed... tomorrow is a new day... and it is! Feeling better emotionally and physically today so on to bigger and better things...

Until next time...

Rain and stuff

It has been raining for days! I live in Northern California so we do get rain and need it but it definitely affects my mood. I have had cabin fever the last few days and just kinda blah. I am seriously looking forward to the Spring Equinox which is March 21st. Clocks go forward this weekend so that always cheers me up too. I lost 1 lb. this week. I am happy with it but I need to up my game. I have been able to get to 8,000 steps on one or two days in the last two weeks but I have not done 10,000 which I would like to do. I didn't make it to the gym last weekend but plan on going this weekend for sure! It will be interesting to see what the gym does with the bugg. I finally figured out how to post the screen shots so I will start doing that when I have some good stats.

Until next time...

Pictures

I need to post some pictures on my profile. I have not been fond of my picture being taken for a LONG time. There are very few pictures of me that I like. I think it has a lot to do with denial. If I take a picture it will show me how big I really am. I guess I would rather not see that. Nicole asked if I had pictures to show her of when I was younger. I do have them packed away somewhere... major project to dig them out. I have never been thin so I don't have any "skinny" pictures. The only time I was ever really in shape was when I was a teenager. I do have those pictures but when I try to visualize the "new" me I have trouble doing so. So if I chronicle them here then I will see the transformation. More incentive!

Clean Slate

Well it is a new month - a clean slate. I am in a funky mood though. First off, I lost my cell phone. I am sooo bummed! I feel so stupid and unorganized for losing it. Also, I ate like crap yesterday. My boyfriend (for the time being) brought over cinammon rolls. He knows ALL ABOUT my goals and that I am using the bugg. I can't blame him for my eating them... but I can ask him not to bring them to my house. There are so many other healthy snacks he could have brought. I ended up eating 3 of them! Ewwww - not only was I mad at myself for eating them - they made my stomach upset for most of the night and this morning... Yuck! I did jump right back on track and have done well today. I also ordered a new cell phone so I will have it by Wednesday.

Side note: I am so glad to see Dana, Kim, Kelly and Mike's blogs. They are encouraging and helping me keep focused toward my goal!
